New Everton Stadium

I'm pretty sure I have mentioned on here we have been negotiations for a while re a waterfront site.
I suppose the key blank is which waterfront site it is.

That of course also has bearing on who it is we're negotiating with.

I must confess to feeling a little twitchy if the site we're after is part of Liverpool Waters. Peel appear to have the best real estate, but since it's earmarked for full-scale development, it makes me wonder how open they'd be to us rocking up with a stadium plan.

If it's not part of Liverpool Waters, it's either further north than I'd like or we're knocking down the Echo Arena.... Surely actually ending up at Kings Dock is too good to be possible.

There is zero chance of us knocking down the echo arenaor building on the Kings dock. It would make no sense for the city.

Hi @The Esk - sorry to pester you mate. You've said we are negotiating for a waterfront site. I've not been keeping up with everything cos I've been on my jollies but I recall you previously said that supporters would be very happy with the location but you couldn't say where it was. I take it things have moved on and the waterfront is being talked about as being the main location we are looking at?

Exactly. It is utterly delusional to believe that LCC would in any way consider demolishing the ACC complex as it's major asset and relatively new.

Regardless of Moshiri having money or being determined to increase our profile, something are close to impossible due to their feasibility.

So, if we're talking about a waterside arena then we're either talking north or south from the CBD - in or around it simply won't happen.

For me that would signal either the area around Riverside Drive (the ol' Pleasure Island complex) which is a large area ready for investment.

Further North, then it's Peel owned land from Clarence Dock/Trafalgar Dock up to the Wellington Dock. Beyond that again is unlikely.

Surely that hasnt got the transport links? Theres a station by there but its tiny and the road links are nowhere near enough for that sort of traffic

The dock site suggested was clarence dock which appears to be the only piece of land large enough to hold a stadium. I wonder if there would be an issue with the regeneration of the tobacco warehouse, which Peel are turning into apartments. Would a view of a huge stadium effect the sale value of the apartments?
