As have been saying.

No one was saying that we would move for the sake of two games. People were saying if it is ready end of December we should/would move mid season. It looks like it won’t be ready so we will never know.

I was never convinced of the monetary benefits that many espoused. But.... don't believe anything until it is official. This is just one persons takeaway from a meeting most never knew had happened

Personally for me that's great news. Trying to get home for the Burnley match next April and have my boys see their first and only game at Goodison. Might not be possible if people think we're moving mid-season next season.

You don’t think the new stadium is going to generate more money than Goodison. Why are we moving then?

I'm not sure that's what he's saying. The way that I read that, is that we cant put on any test events until it is handed over, and we cant play any games until the test events are successful. We would have to organise for both successful and unsuccessful scenarios, meaning that nothing would be certain until very, very close to our moving in date. That would give us, at most, 2 weeks between our last home game at Goodison and our first home game at BMD. That will carry a cost.

Why does it take 5 months to complete test events? Sure Spurs did theirs in a week or something.

Its an epic, once in a lifetime or two, stadium. Im really not arsed if they want to give it a few more months to get it just right. Weve waited all this time, lets get it bang on - its going to be amazing!

Everton get the keys in just over a years time

You’ve then got to get season tickets situated, train staff in all the new stadium procedures, have run throughs of those before you allow people in, make sure all the staff moving into the building have everything they need, train bar staff etc

All that sort of stuff before you even have a test event with peoples.

The test events can be done quickly, sure, but it’s a long process getting there. Spurs were doing these with the stadium still having last minute touch ups but it’s not comparable because they were on the hook for rent at Wembley

We could have done. Just not on the docks or with the design of BMD.
