Yes but look at the difference in how we have gone about it.

A couple of years ago when Bill was asked to sort an erection out - he simply bunged the club doctor a tenner for a couple of viagra.

When Moshiri is asked to sort out an erection is 200 millions worth of solid steel!

Bill didnt even see the club doctor he just replied to one of those dodgy e-mails that turn up !!!

Wouldn't it be correct to have actual planning permission and a stadium design before you're contacting metal fabrication firm and Steel companies etc.

You would think the design piece is fairly critical - need to know what you want to build before you find out how much it’s going to cost!

Planning permission may be a different case though as it may be that you have to give an outline financing plan in a project of that scale - so costing may be called for before planning.

All just a guess by the way - as what I actually know about structural engineering and planning permission could be tattooed on the inside of a mosquitoes foreskin !

You would have to be certain planning permission would be granted before ordering steel, especially with the amount of steel required for a stadium.

Absolutley mate ! But I dont think anyone has suggested we have ordered any just yet - I think there was a suggestion that an enquiry had been made as to the cost for a project that may or may not have anything to do with our new stadium.

We have @The Esk providing us with snippets of information but generally there is very little substantiated comment in regular media channels.
We probably need to go back to the comment by Joe Anderson where he said that he could see Everton playing in a new stadium in three years.

To me that is a very tight time line for a project of this size where planning has not yet even been sought.

I think it means that the project if/when it happens will need to hit the ground running.
I think various parts of the build including the costs of the materials and who will supply the materials needs to be put in place at a very early stage.
Architects, engineers and builders all ready and waiting for the off.

I think it would be more surprising and disappointing if contacts were not being made with organisations who may be involved.

One piece of insider news though regarding the new cladding, we have chosen the cheaper quality paint coating with a shorter guarantee........makes you think why do we need the boss stuff that lasts for donkeys years....mmm

Makes sense if we are planning to move somewhere else as we know we are...........with regards to quotes for steel I don't thinks it is stadium related and more of a coincidence.

I 'd imagine they would have to come to an agreement with Peel and planning permission from the council before getting quotes, besides you can estimate how much the steel will cost based on your needs and global steel prices.
