Wouldn't it be correct to have actual planning permission and a stadium design before you're contacting metal fabrication firm and Steel companies etc.

You would think the design piece is fairly critical - need to know what you want to build before you find out how much it’s going to cost!

Planning permission may be a different case though as it may be that you have to give an outline financing plan in a project of that scale - so costing may be called for before planning.

All just a guess by the way - as what I actually know about structural engineering and planning permission could be tattooed on the inside of a mosquitoes foreskin !

There are cost consultants on large projects so that all of this can be done early without contacting manufacturers et al.

I would have thought so too, but I remember a couple of years back Merseytravel blew £millions buying up steel for tram tracks before the scheme was eventually shelved.

A 65,000 seater stadium is not going to be hidden under bails of straw.

It's better to have planning consent when building a major infrastructure project.

Because the seats in the square corners would be looking down the other side of the terrace not at the pitch

Well, both Trafalgar and Canada Dock are the two locations most being spoken about, and they are both located a stones throw away from a massive turd factory.
