New Everton Stadium

Great them mate, i didn't realise how much of the area of the stands isn't covered.

I don't think it is as bad as that makes it out to be. I'm not sure exactly how that trick of angle has happened with the camera but we know from how wet the stands are that the rows are covered and it's only when there was a strong wind that 8/9 rows had gotten wet on one side.

I say we knock it down and start again just to be on the safe side mate.

if you're in the centre of the pitch there will be a perspective/paralax distortion unless you are so high the light waves hitting the lens are parallel. The plans I recall were that the leading edge of the roof is directly over the edge of the green bit. That said, with wind/swirl, the first free rows will be getting wet.

No.
LOR will complete the build to a certain point. Different contractors will then do bar fit outs, kitchens, restaurants, shop fitting etc.
Then there's the office spaces, ticket offices, dressing rooms, all manner of bits and pieces gonna need sorting.
Then there's the test events to do.
The move in for next season thing makes more sense with every passing week.
Really interested to see how that plays out, personally I’ll be amazed if they don’t continue to use LOR for it, just because of the cost of procuring a separate specialist and then their set up time. Add in the potential for LOR to have to done their work and then another party having to come and hang fittings & fixtures off the end of it and the potential for there to be problem, I just think we would be mad not to, even if they only their as the construction manager at that point.

Was in Bilbao’s stadium on a tour this yr. they extended roof out to stop fans getting wet post build. Was pelting down that day and stood on side of the pitch we were fine too!
I don’t think it will be too long before we have to do something similar to what Bilbao have done and extend the roof area to prevent fans from getting wet when it rains.
But looking long term, when we do eventually get back on an even keel financially, perhaps the way to go would be to install a retractable roof as they have done at the Schalke and Dusseldorf stadiums. That will then open up all sorts of opportunities to increase income for the club, by hosting indoor events, concerts etc.
Watch the heads come off the noisy neighbours if that happens! 😂

Reckon we will have those self service bars in BMD, think Aramark might even have alluded to them in their statement the other week.

You've not seen our new drinks partner?

With the channel, I assume there will be flowing water between the docks occasionally, in which case, what controls the flow?
I assume these are the original gates

but it look like it’s permanently sealed under the south end bridge.
So looks like the latest video from answered my query, the bridge section looks to have flow pipes build in (and currently capped off)

Either the club have decided to put a smaller roof on (extremely unlikely) or it's an optical illusion.

The roof extends to the front edge of the seats/ back edge of the pitch. That's what is shown on all the drawings submitted for planning.

I'm not saying that some of the seats near the front won't get wet when it rains, but it's certainly not as bad as those pictures make it look.

Said a few pages back, several front rows of the fans were getting soaked at the Spurs game at the weekend, so I’d suggest it’s neither unusual or particularly troublesome in the grand scheme of modern stadiums (would be troublesome for me if I was sat there I hasten to add!).
I guess rain is significantly affected by wind direction too so unless it’s completely covered with a roof I suspect it’s very hard to completely prevent some seats getting wet.
