New Everton Stadium

It won't be a major issue in the sense that it won't be a huge undertaking to resolve. Either something has failed/ not been fitted correctly or possibly just not completed yet. Obviously having huge volumes of water entering the ground like that isn't ideal but the stands should all be sealed so it shouldn't be causing damage internally.

I'm sure LoR will be around for a while after the official handover anyway. Even if everything is substantially completed, there will be a minimum 12 month defects correction period in which they will need to resolve issues.

They haven't fitted the side stand back panels yet and I expect it's just the holes in the barrel cladding where it tappers in and down is enough to create enough surface area that when it does start to drop it comes in like a waterfall.

Good rant Matty, my thoughts exactly, we'd fill 60k, the queue of thousands for season tickets is not made up plus it will be an attraction for visitors to the city and the away allocation could be increased.
I can see slightly where they were coming from for a cost pov but would it have been that much different? and surely it would pay for itself in a reasonable time when you factor in increased ticket prices, gigs etc.
As much as I like BMD I feel we sold ourselves short with a 52k capacity.
This. Even Leeds will soon have a much bigger capacity than us. The likes of West Ham already have 60,000.

BMD is magnificent, but is there not scope to increase the capacity?

I'm not sure whether those panels will actually be installed or if they're just something introduced for the visualisations for whatever reason.

That being said, that water isn't coming in as a result of the barrel cladding. If it was, then we'd be seeing the same thing everywhere and the volume of water is just too great. The roof/cladding also underwent extensive weather testing for wind and rain penetration.

There is always scope to increase the capacity, how easy it will be and the cost of doing so is anyone's guess. On the face of it, expanding any of the stands does not look a straight forward job and would require significant works to the roof/ barrel cladding.

Assuming the takeover goes through, I expect Friedkin will look at it but i imagine they would increase revenue through additional hospitaility before considering ripping apart a brand new stadium to expand the capacity.

I'm hoping those back panels don't get fitted on. I think it looks better as it currently is (minus the flooding 😆)
