New Everton Stadium

More people will have learnt more about the docks and it's history during this build than at any time in the last 50 yrs while it's been left to rot behind a locked gate.

Koff Unesco 🖕
The whole Liverpool waters scheme would’ve invalidated UNESCO also but looks a lot better than a group of run down/empty dock imo. I appreciate that they important 100+ years ago but times and the city move on. It’s too valuable real estate for any city to leave derelict.

….something I hadn’t thought of. From what you’re saying, I presume there isn’t a ‘family section’? If that’s the case, then I’d assume you’ll be offered seats together elsewhere in the stadium.

Pricing will be interesting, I imagine there’s grown-ups who’ve been going on children’s tickets for seasons.

The last email I had from the club in regards to the stadium Eggs it does mention a family section, kids have to be U18 to go in there.

I'm biased, as I have a child, but I really don't see the thought process behind not allowing your child in on the parents criteria when the child isn't of an age to go by themselves. I also don't see the point of their seeming approach of "well, there's a family section, go in there". I've sat with the same people for 26 years, they don't have kids. They can't sit in the family section, nor would they want to. I just don't want to be punished for bringing in another generation of match going Evertonians. I've said it before, but I'll simply not get them a ticket. Maybe that's what they want though, get that space filled by a non-concession ST.

Hopefully common sense prevails regarding allowing kids tickets to be purchased at the same time as the parent. Even that won't help people who want to stand in the South Lower though. Then like you have indicated people will have to decide if they want to go somewhere else or not renew a dependant's ticket.

Ridiculous if they don't let a pre teen with a parent during a game, worse case scenario, what if the child gets hurt or is assaulted ? Surely that could leave Everton open to all kinds of litigation. The club has not thought this through properly and if enough fans complain they will simply have to change it.

In the end UNESCO pulling out is probably the best thing to happen to the city for years. If you've got a ruin like Stonehenge or a castle, then it's great to have that badge of honour. If you are going to have a large part of your city (750 hectares) ring fenced, then I would suggest anyone else learns from this and tells UNESCO to do one.

Think I’m one of the few that’s actually happy with the capacity of the new stadium. Once the ‘last season at Goodison’ and ‘first season at BMD’ wears off, accompanied with £1,000 season tickets, I think the demand will drop magnificently.

Yes, there’s 30,000 on the waiting list, but how many of those have the ability to pay for a season ticket when offered the chance? I don’t think it’s that many to be honest. 53,000 is perfect for now, especially whilst we’re not very good at football.
West Ham ?

Sent to me late last night

Goodison to BMD Transition

Also if you do have an under 18 in your group their tenure is being worked out differently. It’s their tensure vs their age. So if a kid has had a season ticket for 5 years but their age is 10, they will be in tenure of 10+ not 5+
If it helps, it seems that the tenure calculation for U18s will be different and give kids a higher credit.

Not one person came to Liverpool because of the UNESCO heritage status applied to derelict docks that no one could access.

It’s always been total nonsense.

As do I. We both prefer to sit/stand in the South lower section, but I think that'll be unlikely if I have to use his criteria rather than mine - nigh on two decades.

My son isn't even nine yet, so he can't go by himself and needs an accompanying adult.

Exactly this.

If UNESCO is saying to protect the Nazca Lines (in the middle of a desert), Machu Picchu (on a hill that's genuinely difficult to get to), or any other site that's basically like "Some important stuff was created here centuries ago, then abandoned as subsequent cultures moved on, and without conscious preservation it may be lost eventually" then all right, makes sense.
But "This area drove commerce and development of a major city, and now that its individual elements have long since been abandoned and it doesn't even slightly resemble what it did during that era, it would be wrong for you to attempt to use the area to the benefit of the actual human beings living in the city" is just bonkers, and especially from a wholly unaccountable international body.
