New Everton Stadium

There is a family stand, i would have thought you would be offered tickets there?

The family stand is just replacing the FE where you can go to have less grown men swearing at the team. (yeah right!) As per how it works now, you can take your kid in other areas. (bar the lower South in BMD which looks like it will be 18+)

The problem is for many if you've had a ST for 20 years, but your 8 year old has had a ST for 3 years, you have to wait for their window to open. Even if they use their age instead of number of years having a ST, you as the parent could see seats that you want, go to people that have had a far less tenure. That seems unfair whatever way you look at it.

I wonder what percentage of STs in Goodison are below the age of say 16, or 18, and how much it would impact by scaling to parents.

My son never sits either due to our location, so the requirement to stand would not be an issue, either.

Yeah we shall see what happens will be interesting to see. There could be some scope to increase capacity a degree which could help in the interim. Which is comforting. I'm off anyway as my posts discussing this with you have attracted unwanted attention, in this thread. You guys take care.
From the bottom of my heart thank you @tommye

On topic: New stadium is lovely innit?

Let's hope the club are honest and transparent and give out those details when they start the process. Least then you'll know.

It seems unless they have a change of heart regarding the age limit - which if they are going to have one should be a maximum of 16 imho, you are going to be blocked getting in the standing area. I guess the age cap perhaps might be something to do with increased ratios down the line? I can't think of a valid reason otherwise.

I don’t know why they can just sit us in the appropriate stand equivalent to what we are now so we are sat by who we been sat by for years and if some people want to move then allow them to move to a different area or is that to simple?

I already now exactly where I want to say, based upon my current viewing experience and my Dads mobility. I would hope that having kids doesn't prevent me form getting that.

Wonder what happens if you become of adult age before the start of the season but after the renewal period?

Don’t think thats really possible now with all the hospitality seats as that is basically what would be the entire middle of the upper bullens, main stand/top balcony. So you’d have to move all them which then moves others and so on and so on. There’s never going to be a way of pleasing everyone, I personally do think the fairest way of doing it is on length of having a season ticket, but just needs the issue of having kids sitting with their parents sorted out (although the club still haven’t officially released anything yet so is all hearsay up to now)

Maybe because some of us don’t want to sit in the equivalent.
Plus the ones who sit in certain areas at GP won’t be able to have the equivalent because those areas are now occupied by corporate

Sure i have seen him say he would have a fixed number of season tickets so we can get more fans to come into games. Cant stand the guy is just a fan who has a fan youtube account who attention has gone to his head thinking has more say than anyother average fan

Got to say I agree with this. Close to 80% of seats at Goodison are taken by STH. Should be 50-60% at most in my opinion, allowing more fans to get to a few games a season.

I think the proportion of ST holders is dependent on the capacity and the size of both local and national/international match-going fanbase. If there are hundreds of thousands regularly clamouring for tickets, then yes you can afford to limit the number of season tickets, to give more availability for walk-up and matchday tickets.... you could then do as LFC do, and ask ridiculous prices for GA seats, increasing yield and therefore profits etc. However, if there are only a few thousand or even tens of thousands (that was at least partly created by relative scarcity of "good" unobstructed capacity, and relatively low ticket prices), then any increased ticket prices might more than absorb any waiting list. If the new capacity is so high that tkt availability then begins to outstrip demand, then after the novelty and new stadium effects have worn off, some current ST holders may also begin to pick and choose their games, in the knowledge that tkts will almost always be available.

It is a bit of a juggling act because there is only so much juice that can be squeezed from any fanbase, and we have to be really careful not to alienate or simply price out a large proportion of it. 30% capacity increase is a good step-up, and when it is not a freebie stadium we have to ensure that every seat pays for itself, and it is full for every game. So, in our case, it may still be important to keep that ST proportion quite high. Chase and reward fan loyalty, at least till we know what the real demand is.

I think for qualifying season ticket holders (will all current holders be offered a seat at the new place?) it should be really easy to be offered 'best equivalent' seats at the new place.

I know that all seats will be good seats so it's not exactly 1:1 to replace Lower Gwladys with the first half of the South Stand or whatever, but I'm sure the club has an idea of where the fans from the various current stands may find themselves when we move over.

There ought to be a portal with a seat map that indicates the section their Goodison seat is and roughly where it should be in the new place. If season ticket holders don't wish to keep the same spot they can choose any other free seat and be offered that for the relevant price.

Obviously there will be a fair number who can't be offered a close equivalent due to hospitality, but they can certainly choose a seat from a seating plan.
