New Everton Stadium

Club makes a video that actually looks like they are properly proud of it. And so they should be.

Might be “only” 53000, but my god, it could so easily be a scaled up 50k version of an identikit Leicester, Stoke, Derby stadium with all the white scaffolding stuck on the outside. Perfectly functional, leaves the fans to make the atmosphere, but ZERO soul or reasoning to the design other than “weight bearing structures”. Saves money for another right back too.

I have a few niggles with things compared to the original renders, but my goodness. Now it’s just stood there waiting for the pitch and for all those hundreds of ovens to be packed with £12 sausage rolls, it’s frankly unbelievable. Startling and a little jarring from some angles and really beautiful from others. So clever. And we are so lucky, many of the complaints forgetting the state we have been in for decades now.

As much as growing up going to Goodison 40 odd years ago was magical every single time, what a place to start over.

Does anyone know what the area in the lower west stand (above the dugouts and in front of the glass fronted hospitality area) is being used for?

It looks like there are wooden boards and comfy seats being placed there. I thought lt looked like the area where radio and other media outlets would be sitting. I know that the press people will be located at the back of the upper west stand, but they’re usually separate from radio and other media people?

Any info?
Not sure if you ve had a reply but here is the answer. The seats are like the massage ones in airports. They are heated and recline. The boards are to house tvs. Cant recall the price apart from it being astronomical.

so it SHOULD be bigger tommye it’s a f new ground

so now i’ve said it 61,000 times

I'm not sure people realise what a quantum leap a 53k, ultra-modern stadium will be.

The difference between Goodison and BMD is measured in light years.

The difference between a 53k BMD and a 60k BMD is minuscule in comparison.
The Anfield Rd expansion is an extra 7k so in the grand scheme of things it might be miniscule but Liverpool thought it was worth doing

The reality is, most fans realise they've been sitting in seats which don't offer good views of the game.

Letter box view in gwladys/bullens?

There's been a stigma of being a bigger blue for sitting in the gwladys as opposed to the top balc. They've finally found a way to solve their insecurities.

Very similar to how it's important to be Uber Scouse instead of a "wool".
There isn't going to be a bad seat in the new ground
