New Everton Stadium

….still thinking we’re missing a trick not re-locating the Dixie Dean and Holy Trinity statues on the concourse.

Seems a total waste leaving them where they are. Goodison might have been where their success happened but they are Everton icons and should always be part of our home.
totally agree. Have they advised any reason why they are not moving them to BMD?

We could just create new ones for the new ground. It feels right to me that they stay there, the place they called their home. They should remain so that we forever have that land claimed as our own. The same with the stones and the wall. People's memories are often linked to place, and there are many part of that wall that are dedicated to the memory of people through that place. Dixie stands over it,l and provides a focal point. People will no doubt continue to remember those they have lost by leaving keepsakes there.

Very little been said about the Goodison Regeneration project either.

Be a huge tragedy if the site was left derelict for years, the statues would become iconic in its inertia and used in the media for the wrong reasons.
I'm sure things have been rumbling on in the background, I expect a lot of it is linked to funding and partnerships. EITC will likely be heavily involved given the social care/ housing and community element. It will also likely be largely funded by third parties and grant funding rather than Everton themselves; although there will be some financial commitment/ cost to the club.

Obviously the takeover might have slowed things down, but i don't anticipate TFG throwing the whole thing in the bin. I think they will be right behind any proposal to leave a fitting legacy at GP but ultimately the scheme needs to make commercial sense overall.

It will likely change quite a bit from what the original proposals were. In fact, it has already been altered at least once within the first 12 months of being announced. The retail element in particular has been scaled back considerably.

Personally i suspect the club the club hasn't done much on it mate - on a list of priorities id be surprised (pleasantly) if it wasn't near the bottom.

I think the ladies/junior teams might end up moving in to GP.... with just one or 2 stands kept in a 15k stadium and the rest of the site redeveloped. That historic connection kept and maybe one historic Leitch stand getting preserved.

How many of you go to Walton Hall Park? How many more would go to Half a GP, which would be far superior the WHP. Then LFC would have the 3rd best ground in the city. You read it here first.

Which two stands would you keep Tom?

Which two would you like to keep, and which do you think the club would keep?

Ultimately they can't do anything until we've moved into BM and GP has been demolished. Until that time, the proposals will be subject to change to suit market conditions and the like. For example, a Care Home was proposed in the original plans and since then an application has been approved for one just outside the site on Diana Street.

Like i say, I expect things are rumbling on in the background to some extent and we'll start to hear more after we've left GP for BM.

Interesting question. For me, Bullens and Park End I think. Put the changies in the corner with tv room.
Put apartments along Goodison Rd and Gwladys St, to keep the pitch confined on all sides. Perhaps with a few steps of terracing on those sides and just a couple of corporate boxes built into a lower floor floor on the mainstand side, with camera platform above or on the roof. On the TV it would look the biggest women's stadium in the league haha.

Club, probably just the park end with the pitch turned 90°.

They need to get their skates on then Tom and make a decision before the last game at GP, otherwise there might not be much left of the stadium after the final whistle 😆

It’d be good if that did happen but I think a short/medium term business case would probably show it to be a lot more expensive option.

Would it cover its own costs? Cost of renovating and operating goodison vs Walton hall park would be a lot different
