New Everton Stadium

@Joey66 if you could offer some answers here mate?

@COYBL25 if you could translate his answers please.
Laid mainly on sharp sand which the base which is the biggest part of the work the actual foundation of the basis of the pitch itself - nylon netted rolls of turf, a pitch can be laid in a day rolled out like carpet, but interlocking - hence why sprinklers are on most times as there is total drainage underneath with underneath heating cables plus in the turf probably a mixture of artificial grass - none that you can smoke @COYBL25 :D

52,888 seats is fine for us currently. But surely just factoring in some kind of minimal engineering option to add another 17,122 seats (to 70k) without a major overhaul would have been sensible, given the sheer grandeur of the design. The difference between a 50k and 70k stadium for things like Euros, Champions League final, major pop concerts, etc. would be quite significant.

Maybe there could be a way - obviously with a fair bit of re-structuring, but who knows… Perhaps its a “worry” for another day eh, one step at a time and all that. Lets just get the takeover sorted and stay in the league first!

Not being funny mate but I don't see a world where we ever fill a 70k stadium week in week out. I posted last week how we've never actually averaged more than 53k in any season in our history.

Rolls of turf finest hard wearing grass seed sown in nylon netting - the actual base will be the big job before rolling out the turf ....
It's not rolls of turf. It's being top soiled (upper rootzone) and seeded. Once that is complete, specialised machinery will be brought in to stitch the synthetic fibres into the roots of the grass to strengthen them.

It's a hybrid SIS grass surface, which comprises 95% natural grass and 5% polyethylene fibres. This gives the pitch a faster recovery time.

Exactly what I stated without googling it !

You said rolls of turf. It isn't.
It's rolled up when delivered you do not think it comes flat do you the whole football pitch ? Or if it's stacked, the grass will get damaged on that scale of almost half an acre ....

I remember ages ago when the wire netting turf was delivered when it first came out for a new bowling green it was in rolls - My Forman stated if they use that on football pitches players studs would get caught in the wire mesh - proved correct as it happened players breaking legs etc plus other injuries - If you order a carpet for your living room it's not delivered flat - always carefully in rolls -

They can relay a whole football pitch in a day if the foundations are correct to avoid subsidence etc ...

The formavoid layer is springy, like a trampoline, to help our players run faster and jump higher.

Grass seeding for the pitch is expected to be completed in early October.

What exactly is rolled up? I'll admit i'm not completely familiar with the process, but from everything I have seen, they will seed the pitch (not lay turf) and then stitch the fibres into the natural grass.
