New Everton Stadium

Its good that TFG are looking into this.
I think most of us believe somewhere between 60-70k to be the sweet spot in terms of capacity. Once you go appreciably above 70k that then you start to get too far away from the pitch.
After a couple of seasons at BMD and once the novelty of a new stadium has worn off TFG will be able to review matchday and Season ticket demand and set about expansion plans if those are still high.
I did a rough sketch a while back, it looks like there is sufficient room for a third tier around the East, West and South stands. Especially if they buy up some of Nelson dock (in case some area around south needs to be filled).

Buying land to the south won't change the capacity equation will it? Any expansion would be to the north surely? Does the club own the land north of the stadium?

But good that the owners are looking at getting more from the site generally. I understand that the guy who currently owns a lot of the land has pretty much just sat on it for the last two decades.

No they don't own the land to the north, I think if it was ever expanded, it would be to the east. I think that's way down the line if ever, Nelson Dock facing the south stand is more likely to be developed with leisure provisions etc though.

I tend to agree. Seen a few jibes on X referring to the "British Gas stadium". If they are just trying it out maybe they'll reach the same conclusions. It didn't look good.
More I think out that image the more I’m convinced the lights aren’t set up for their final position / actual design intent.
It’s like they were shining outwards rather than upwards as there was little to no diffused light around the base of the roof etc.
I suspect they simply on as part of a commissioning test for easy of identification of any faults etc.
(Least I certainly hope that’s the case)

There is a water treatment plant immediately to the North (over the road) - United Utilities (Thames Water equivalent) 'processing' turds for the few grossly disfigured fish in the River Mersey.

I mean it guess it's a test situation (I hope) where they are working out how it goes, but I would hope there was light inside the actual barrel so it reflected through properly.

The way the lights are orientated on what was shown makes it look like theres little bleed from the lights and it's very spotty.

I am hoping the assumption it was a test thats been caught is right and theres still work to do on the lights, completely loses the effect of the stadium for me.

Great to read they have interest in Nelson Dock. Might be the start of an Everton Campus and not just a stadium. The potential there is really exciting.
This is something I can buy into. City's Etihad Campus is marvellous, and the quality of the training pitches, education facilities, food etc. is top-notch.

Having to spend a fair bit of time there, you appreciate how good it is compared to what most other teams have, including Everton.
