New Everton Stadium

Extra events is how we bring in more money to pay for a better team. It also draws extra eyes on to our ground and might lead to the next bit of business. A rugby league international first, then perhaps a challenge cup final. An England football international, might then turn into a Europa final. A band that you may think is also beneath us, then becomes a world renowned one.

Let's show we can put on a good, profitable show and get the word out there until we become the must book destination.
Nicely put 👌

Apparently they were looking at extending the SKD Stand but have run into headwinds concerning Skerries Road and Wylva Road compulsory purchasing orders. They're snookered the Kop End too - unless they can build over Oakfield Road and again smash down more properties.

I think that's it for now for them.

Best owners in der werld doe la.

They've cobbled together a stadium, with a strategy of put as little in as possible for maximum profit.

No thought for the viewing experience of fans, some of the new seats there are appalling. I constantly like to remind them that we have 52k better seats than them.

No thought for aesthetics - just pure and simple, how many day-trippers can we squeeze in.

They're constantly reminding everybody of how big, famous, successful, and rich they are, yet they're happy to laud this ramshackle scheme of the owners.

Arsenal built a new stadium, Spurs and Everton too. Chelsea and United want to. West Ham and City blagged one.

We could have cobbled something together at Goodison (don't know it's ever been brought up on here :hayee: ) but even 'little' old Everton looked at it and thought, nah, it needs to be done properly, in a modern fashion, with the fans and their experience at the heart of it. Them lot would take the stands back half a mile away from the pitch if it meant squeezing more money out.

Painted themselves into a corner. Should have moved to Stanley Park when they had the chance and built a new build holding 70 odd thousand. Thankfully they didn't. 😁

FSG mugged H&G and got the club for a song, then they shelved the plans for the Stanley Park stadium.

They were blessed getting Klopp in there. They'd have been run out of town years ago if they hadn't got him.

There's another thing. Stanley Park. A historic public green space, dating back to the Victorian era. Was there many complaints when that was the plan, from reds or blues?

We redevelop a derelict dock and we're depriving dog walkers, kite flyers and turd fishers.

One more thing as well, just to get it off my chest whilst I'm on one: So, our new ground is generic is it? Hang on, we probably have the least generic ground in the country. A truly historic and traditional stadium dripping with character...

They call it "woodison".

Hypocritical tossers.

The hole punch stand is typical American, build big to be noticed. I was walking the Sandstone trail and in Frodsham looking at the Citys skyline, beautiful until you see that, spoils it.
I honestly don't know how they can have any pride in that stadium. Capacity is the only thing it's got going for it.

Goodison might be faulted in so many ways, but it still fills me with a sense of pride in our history that's just completely gone in that warehouse of theirs.

I`d add that they gave no thought to the people living in the area behind the main stand, where they bought up houses and left them derelict turning the area into such a terrible place that some folks felt they had to sell the home to get away from it. This was something our fans were well against repeating to expand Goodison. We see ourselves as a club that respects and takes pride in the community that our club is situated in.

Absolutely mate. Made all the more the shameful by the fact we're talking about a huge club that is awash with organic revenue compared to many other clubs. A club that unfortunately carries this city's name to boot. Gobshites.

More interested in width, to be honest. Matters more to those of us who are carrying a bit of weight. 😁
Although am not tall, I was hoping for a bit more legroom.

However I will be delighted if I am able to see the pitch without the inevitable Tallest Man In The World sitting in front of me and obscuring part of the penalty area. I live in hope...
