New Everton Stadium

Yeah, I’d heard they were full spectrum lights - but I was just curious whether something about the reflective surfaces there was causing them to look different on camera.

Not sure if you've seen this shot, direct without the reflection to take into account.

Thanks. Definitely looks purple!

I wonder why… to honour the wheelie bins of Liverpool?

Might be purple illuminates the section brighter and still has a blue hue to it, where a lighter blue may start to look whiter or washed out? Perhaps they don't want to show off the full effect yet. I've seen those lights an actual blue colour but it was day time, not helpful to clock exactly what it will be like.

As you say the atmosphere was poor considering they won 4 nil there just didn’t seem to be anything coming from 3 sides of the ground and also with the roof being closed you would think it would sound better but very flat to be honest
My brother went to Barcalona a few years back and said the atmosphere was shocking bad. Apart from the tow goals he said that there was no chanting or cheering throughout. With La Liga being an even more closed shop at the top compared to the PL I guess that has an impact on atmosphere in games outside of their big two. Most people are going expecting to be entertained before they get remotely excited whereas we go to the game nowadays in the hope we might get something to cheer about so that when we get a sniff of a performance we generate the atmosphere to go with it.

Every time I see pictures or videos of these lights in the south stand, I’m struck by how intense and almost blown out the colour is. I can’t work out if it’s messing with camera sensors or not.

Can anyone who has seen it with their actual human retinas confirm if it’s blue or purple in reality?

…..in recent years both my retinas have been significantly detached requiring a number of operations so I’d appreciate you not reminding me in this mainly therapeutic thread

Was there for first time earlier this year (for Springsteen not rugby) but looks like a lot of commercial development has sprung up in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, so may be an indicator of the draw of BMD for future investment into Central Docks
Yeah location wise the Principality/Millenium couldn’t be better, right next to the station, on the river side and a stones throw away from the centre of town and all the bars/pubs etc. At the moment BMD will be a little isolated but once the Liverpool Waters development takes off I think it’ll be fantastic.

I can’t remember which video it was but they’re testing an array of colours on the outdoor lighting.
They’re white LEDs so capable of producing any RGB colour in the spectrum. They’re using purple white and blue to get the focus, hue and calibration correct. Normally red would also be used in these tests but we all know how that would go down 😂
