New Everton Stadium

Just as our last ever game is not on the last day of the season - as it's got to be all about them and their big finish
Our 1st Ever BMD game won't be on the first day of the season - as it's got to be all about them and their big start

Night Game here we come:celebrate:

Genuinely couldn't care less what the 'story' is. And also, I'd much rather a Saturday 3pm kick off for our first game at BMD.

Regards the first match at the new place, I wonder if the club is thinking of doing a live broadcast on the website and/or YouTube for exiled and foreign based Evertonians and those based locally who won't have a ticket?

I think it's a good idea. I'm not talking about the match itself, but outside the ground for an hour or two before kick-off, interviews with the fans, showing off the bars, hospitality areas, fan zone, West Stand plaza etc. I think it would be useful and a good way in which all Evertonians can share a huge day in the history of our great club.

I understand we asked the league to have our last game on the penultimate weekend as we didnt want it overshadowed by the kerfuffle of titles and relegations. Ironically to your post, we wanted the weekend before th last to be all about us.

Good idea mate. I'm sure something like this will be done, whether it goes out live or not, I don't know.

On a different note, what sort of test events do you reckon we will have? There's potential to use the stadium for football events other than first team football imo. I'd probably go and watch a fat arse 'legends' team or u23 fixture.

I'd watch anything. I suspect it might be the under 21's, ladies etc. Couldn't care less. I desperate to see what it looks like inside and what the facilities are like for general admission.

I`d imagine they`d stick to having football matches as test events. There`s plenty of games from the U 23`s or the women's team that could be played there that would cover the requirements. Is there a set number of test events that need to be carried out at various capacities?

Yeah there's a minimum requirement. I forget what it is, think it might be three.

I`d say any game the ladies would play would get a big crowd in the new year.

I think most things would get a big crowd mate. Especially if it's reasonably priced. No reason the club can't rake in a bit more money than what Goodison generates before we move in.

I'd imagine the players are gonna spend a bit of time training down there too, so It would be great if they opened the gates for a session of that, even if just for a load of kids.
