New Everton Stadium

I posted a few images of this stadium before - In relation to your comment about having a glass facade on the river side if the stadium- a brilliant idea. This is the AT & T stadium in Texas - A futuristic new stadium with a retractable roof and in my opinion, a cracking design - Well those Texans don't do anything but BIG, do they? I'd be well impressed with something as dramatic and imposing as this.

Check out that video screen above the playing surface - boss that.View attachment 26914 View attachment 26915 View attachment 26916

You do not want that stadium. I went to an NFL game there and it felt like breaking INTO prison. Also the class difference between the posh people in their high-dollar seats and the rest of us is extremely noticeable. You can't even walk all the way around the stadium on the concourse. The stadium does not try to hide that the stadium had rich people in mind first and foremost.

One thing in my mind is the SC location, this cannot happen, never mind the warehouses but essentially when you look at the big map it is not really in Liverpool. It would be us who are stuck in an out of the way backwater.

do you think the new stadium will be a real attraction for players coming in? Like surely the club must have plans and pictures etc of what they are thinking to sell to potential signings...

Not sure about that mate - I suppose those that would try to make out that they are all mercenaries would suggest they don't really give a hoot and would play on a ploughed field surrounded by sheds if the money in their back pocked was right.

Spurs did that in half that time frame when the stadium is ready for the 2018-2019 season.

And the waterfront stadium should be 70K....Build it and they will come.

With all due respect though, Spurs were building on a far easier site than a UNESCO World heritage area. They also have the added advantage of doing it on already existing ground and probably had significant planning time before announcement.

I really don't get the fixation with 2 years or 5 years or even 10. Get the right venue even if it takes a little longer.

I remember seeing plans for a new stadium about 20 years ago and being excited. I thought 'yeah but it'll be a few years until it's actually built'. I did not foresee it taking this long!!!

without wishing to sound melodramatic, these next few years will determine where we are going to be as a club for the next generation. While I want dramatic progress as much as anyone, I'm content to wait another couple of years to make sure get the right stadium for us. Even if SC was good to go now, I doubt the 2 year boast by Andreson would be achievable. Better to take the time necessary to deliver on the waterfront wonder home. Although having said that, shrewd as he is, I don't see Moshiri as one to rest on his laurels.

that's what I was thinking. the idea of playing in a great stadium doesn't bother them id imagine

If SC comes on the cards we have to do all we can to stop it, but really we need the club to know now its not good enough, hopfully they do, even if Joe will try to push us out there.

I'm assuming because it would interfere with our preferred 'Hoof Ball' style of play...

No mate, if I wanted to watch the TV, Id stay at home. When we score a goal I'll likely not be sitting down until the replays have finished and they don't show anything that is a remotely disputable decision anyway.

The Americans have lovely big screens cause thieir jarg sports have loads of stoppages where they play 'kiss cam' or 'spot the fat kid eating a hotdog' and while they're not, they intersperse it with adverts. No thanks.

Plus, I don't want to be on TV eating a hot dog.

As I've stated many times before, I've seen one game at Goodison & missed seeing the only goal due to a disgusting Pork Pie! It's not Guantanamo Bay, nobody is forcing your eyes open to watch the screen. :p
