It was always just going to light up the lower portion. The thing is can they get a consistent glow across the barrel or will it still have the spotlight effect.

I think some of the issue, at least for me, is we tend to see the spotlight effect from an elevated position which hopefully makes it look ‘worse’ as you see the focus point of the light.
At ground level hopefully it will have more of a glow than the gas hob effect from an elevated perspective.

Yes it definitely looks better at ground level. Unfortunately stadiums do get filmed from the air in the build up, so any night game we would still have that reminder.

They will be no new stadium updates for them like they’ve managed to churn out for the last 4 years

I don't mind the gas hob effect because at least if we're playing well (long shot) in the future we can craftily say that Everton are 'cooking'.

The hob - why not just change the colour of the lights and see what that looks like? Or alternate them - 1 blue, 1 white.... - and see what that looks like?
