New Everton Stadium

I imagine it would be fairly easy to isolate areas where they wouldn’t want general public access and allow safe passage to some of the stands etc.
I agree it would be a missed opportunity not to allow tours etc, even if it were invite only to tenured season ticket holders for example.
Yes, that would be something.

The sooner the stadium is thrown open to everyone though the better.

As long as it's safe to do so the people of the Peoples Club have to be allowed near the thing.

There should be days put aside so supporters can get on site and then others where its not possible to do that as work resumes.

Surely the club see there'll be frustration at a lack of access.

We're well ahead of schedule I would have thought.
My thoughts, stick an Ice Cream van down on that west plaza on a nice late spring day & open it up to the public as a viewing day. We all get to go looking for our forever stones & just take it all in.

Yep. Sounds doable.

I take all the points in people have made over safety etc but I honestly cant see this stadium being out of bounds until the summer. Not a chance.

On Friday afternoon, the security guy on the gate at Nelson Dock told me we’d be able to walk around the outside of the stadium next month.

Mind you, I’m not convinced he had all the facts. So I took that with a pinch of salt and didn’t rush to post it on here.

On Saturday morning, the (different) security guy in the hut at the Northern vehicle entrance told me that if I went down to the other pedestrian gate they’d probably let me in for a walk around there and then.

I knew as soon as he said it he was probably wrong. Especially since no one was at any of the other gates at the time.

I got the feeling there’s been a change over in the security staff - and that these guys are new, employed by Everton rather than LOR, and maybe not up to speed on what the deal is with the site.

As someone who worked on a construction project where the client had endless visits for dignitaries, media, influencers and all sorts of other wastrels, it was a massive PITA for the contractors - who took it out on the client's representative - which was me.

As long as it's still a work site, and H&S rules apply, then it's really tricky to temporarily stop work to allow visits, affects the critical path on the timeline etc. Now the club may have factored this into the program - but I've not seen any mention of it in the Comms to date.

We've waited over two decades for this. I'm sure we can wait a bit longer.

Some people on here behave like it's just before Christmas... oh, hang on.
Merry Christmas to all Blues everywhere.
