New Everton Stadium

You're scare mongering about transport issues, that you have no idea will or won't exist (given there is zero tangible evidence to support your concerns), in what should be a very exciting time for all of our supporters.

Fair enough, share your views and concerns, but to represent your views as matter of fact and/or restate them as a retort to almost every objective reply before the gates are even open is laughable. That's probably why (multiple) folks, by your own admission, have called you out on it (I don't see anyone taking exception, just calling you out for having no actual basis for concern currently).
I have never scaremongered. Not once. I have pointed out that the stadium is a further walk from the city centre than SOME fans think and that we should expect some decent public transport provision to get there. I have acknowledged that we do not yet know the plans for that are and I look forward to seeing what they are. In the meantime, I have made a few suggestions and would welcome others.

Seeing as the stadium opens in as short as 8 months time, I think it timely that we should start the discussion now. Yes, I am a bit of a public transport nerd, I admit it. That said, I have read discussions on this thread which do not concern me and I have not posted but I have avoided personal insults. If people find me a dreadful bore, then just ignore me. But no need to make things personal. UTFT

Just for complete clarity, I don't think I've read anything personal directed at you individually in any of the threads posted by anyone in here (admittedly haven't read anywhere near all of the pages, so stand corrected if that is the case).

The general sentiment around traffic/ transport issues (that noone actually knows is an issue) or around seats being wet (which again noone actually knows is an issue) are draining and pointless (watching performances on the pitch are draining and pointless enough) - but at the same time hilariously predictable, at some point a thread around all the things that could have gone wrong with the stadium that have been surfaced in this thread will need to be created, the pitch not fitting being a highlight.

If these things materialise and aren't resolved within the first year or two of moving in and become an actual issue, then by all means let's discuss the life out of them and ways to solve the problem, once they become one to solve in the first place.

Anyway...as I've said we are about to move into the newest, purpose built, modern stadium in Europe with all the bells/whistles. The location is the envy of many clubs across the UK and Europe (most likely further afield) and heralded in the media and by the vast majority of our own fans. Some perspective on how big an issue of whether the number 5 bus will pass a certain street on the regularity required, or if my seat was power washed or got a splash of rain during the hand over process is potentially required here.

Erm not quite. I just happen to know people who have been working on the stadium and they're quite frankly embarrassed by people who act like they know everything (even though they decided to work in oil)

I think even Tom himself wouldn't profess to know everything, but I think he has proved on more than one occasion that he's plenty knowledgeable in this area.

People don't like what he says sometimes, but he's not saying it to be obtuse, he's simply putting across his opinion which is based on experience. Something that many on here can't do. I don't agree with everything he says, but he doesn't lie about what he says, or make things up to suit his argument.

It gets really frustrating on here sometimes as to how partisan arguments can get. We all want the best for Everton, and the best stadium. Some believe that it can't be improved upon, some do. Sound.

I wouldnt be surprised to see some form of bus put on from The Swan through Kenny and Town then onto BM.

Arriva already do the small Click Bus service around the city and be amazed if they aren't looking doing something similar to alleviate the pressure off the general buses in and out of town.
We used to get the soccerbus from Broadgreen rd in Old swan back in the day,
Or the coach from Huyton Labour/Farmers arms.
Fairly certain getting there wont be a problem.
I know a guy with a mini bus who plans to do a shuttle service 🤷

Surely they will run buses from Liverpool one station. 5 minutes or less of a trip and fairly central too?
I'm fairly confident I read that the LCRCA were committed to supporting with improved transportation in the planning process, and that bus routes were part of this.

There is planned work for Sandhills (new covering for the weather), and buses should be able to run up and down the Dock Road to the ground.

I think the only issue will be how busy the junction of the Strand, Leeds St. and Great Howard St. may be, but it's better than walking.

Top post. Last time I checked this was a discussion forum. It still is I hope.

That sounds like a great plan. I suspect a few people will make a few bob on a match day that way. And why not?
