One last pint before you load up the pack donkeys and begin the arduous trek home...Do we know if the bars on the concourse at the new stadium will be open during the match (are they allowed to be?). Just thinking, those who leave early can at least go downstairs for a pint on the way out.

I don't disagree with much of that, I regularly have to fly home for matches and often see a few blues en route, but according to the club, there is supposed to be a massive surplus of demand. A total of 63k+ wanting season tickets alone. Presumably with many more again, wanting to attend less frequently too. I'm not sure that Thursdays are much worse than any other midweek game tbh, so it's difficult to equate all of that with a sub-capacity attendance, for what could be our last ever cup game, for much reduced prices..... (if that happens)..... even more so when we'll soon have over 35% more home seats to fill, at higher prices. Or are you just saying that FA Cup games have lost all of their attraction? Could be the biggest factor.....
You won't find a bigger advocate of the new stadium than me. It's virtually perfect, in my eyes.
It’s going to take quite a while for peoples matchday routines to settle, from the transport options to choosing where to eat & drink either in or outside the stadium. Then even getting used to the people standing/sitting near you. It’ll all be different and everyone just needs to be patient and embrace the change.
But that doesn’t excuse the likes of Stagecoach who used to run a relatively reliable bus service from Goodison back to the City Centre but in the last year or so it’s gone to pot a bit. Poor queuing organisation and not enough buses for the demand. If they think that will be acceptable for the new stadium they’ll need a rethink.
Those that are used to parking for free only 5-10 minutes walk from Goodison will be in for a bit of a shock/upset when they find everything within a 30min radius is permit zones. So lots of usual habits will have to change. If you’re a resident in that area you could be quids in on a matchday selling off private spaces & visitor permits!
A brisk walk from Dale Street (ship & mitre end) to Bramley Moore is around 30 minutes (Google maps always say a bit longer). Ideally need some new bars around half way to break up the journey!
Bit rubbish that. Be arsed waiting 30 minutes to grab a bevyNo, they can't be open until 30 minutes after kickoff, which has been the rule for a long time.
As will be the same until after the final whistle.
If it turns us into something other than 2020-2024 Everton I’ll be happy. The new stadium isn't going to turn us into 1970s Brazil
If it turns us into 2024 Villa or Forest I’d be more than happy thanks. Evertonians are realistic, they just don’t want to be an utter joke anymore, and that’s the least they deserveThe new stadium isn't going to turn us into 1970s Brazil
I don’t want to be mean or presumptuous, but are you an older person? For me, Goodison park is a cursed hell hole and I can’t wait to see the back of the place. I hope the demon that so obviously resides there stays when we leave and the curse on this team is lifted once and for all.Saw it for the 1st time today it looks magnificent and cant believe its ours.it softened the blow of walking away from Goodison for the last time today,i will miss her though.
