The important part that we all need to consider is that Spurs stadium cost significantly more than ours, and they spent less on foundations and land preparation etc.The inside does look rather generic. It will look better with electronic advertising and a full crowd.
It's the outside that makes this what it is. That's why I hope they can still do something with the barrel lighting and make the most of the plaza and western terrace which will at the least be enhanced further through the customisation process.
With an appropriate dash of colour here and there, the Everton branding, and (hopefully) an enhancement to the lighting, it should and will look truly magnificent in a fantastic setting.
Spurs stadium does look impressive from the inside, empty or packed. I think ours looks far better from the outside which is more defining for a stadium imo, and can look better again which everything is completed.
I think a lot of people fail to appreciate/ understand just how much building on the dock would have impacted the cost. I've not got exact figures but it will have been a substantial amount. It's not just the actual infilling to consider, it's all the associated costs that go along with it and the marine environment. The important part that we all need to consider is that Spurs stadium cost significantly more than ours, and they spent less on foundations and land preparation etc.
Put simply, their stadium is so impressive because of how much they’ve spent on it.

I've seen people in here try to compare the stadium costs with others built in different parts of the world, suggesting we've somehow been ripped off but they are failing to appreciate the sheer amount of money we will have spent below ground that no-one gets to see.
Its not just the money they spent on it but some of the features they have included. Removable pitch, first in England. The fan view area in the tunnel, first in England. The massive stand alone single tier home end.The important part that we all need to consider is that Spurs stadium cost significantly more than ours, and they spent less on foundations and land preparation etc.

It was something like £200m for the infilling and sub-structure. Then there would have been additional costs associated with suspending all the below ground drainage and utilities within the footprint of the dock due to the settlement issue.Didn’t they initially say it was something like £100m to turn it from a dock into a piece of land that could be built on? And I suspect that cost got inflated by at least 30-40% like the rest of the build.
Bloody beautiful. Best looking stadium in the UK that is. And look where she sits, proudly on the banks of the Mersey.
This won`t be a problem as we can schedule games for when the tide is out.Still not convinced it was best location as in the water, environmental change and predicted rises in sea levels. Time will tell!
