New Everton Stadium

Even if you lowballed it and said 150-175m, that should be able to buy you a patch of land even in expensive areas. I wonder if we did ever put a cheeky bid for the central docks with a similar amount it would cost to break ground at BMD.

That could have sped up the planning stages, perhaps we could have got approval before covid and then finished the build before Ukraine happened. You'd imagine that would have cut the costs by at least 30%, we would have been able to finance it using Usmanov's backing and in the process missed out on the points deductions.
Unfortunately there was no chance Peel would have sold us a plot at the Central Docks, smack bang in the middle of their Liverpool Waters scheme.

Pity though, that dock was filled decades ago and has had all this time to settle and consolidate. Like you say, would have been a significant on the stadium had we been building there and not at BM.

Don’t know if anyone knows this, but I think our new home is the best in the league 👌💙
As a stadium designed purely for football, yes, Spurs’ I think has a slightly swankier wow factor for multi sports, but ours has a lot more personality and is sensitive to the area it has been built in. In my opinion any football stadium designed purely should try and capture that, I think ours does so brilliantly.

I don't think anyone else posts with such consistent, repetitive and long winded criticism of the stadium. It's all a bit weird to be honest.

Mostly not really criticisms of the stadium per se, more some people's assertions regarding it, or other connected issues. As I said, I'm only responding to others.

Feel free to counter any points made. Otherwise accusations of "weirdness" is just name-calling.

I don't want to counter anything because I have no interest in debating the optimum number of boxes at a stadium. Maybe start a new thread specifically for stadium criticism/revisiting previous decisions ad nauseum of you think people have an interest in that sort of thing and leave this one for information and a more positive outlook.
