Was there not some sort of restriction regarding the lighting and aesthetics for the stadium Dave so that it wouldn’t impinge on the heritage of the dock area?

I remember reading something about that a while back. Maybe someone who is better versed in this stuff than me can explain it better.

I think the club have had their hands tied and are very limited about what they can do regarding illumination etc.

The permanent lighting on the Liverbuildings exterior was designed specifically as accent lighting so as not to detract from it's surrounding. That was a non-negotiable of the design brief. I know this as I used to sit next to the designer of that exact system. What you have pictured here is not the permanent installation.

There was definitely a restriction on the level of lumens.

There's not much surrounding this stadium on that part of Regent Road to detract from...unless Terry's Timbers object to their aesthetically displeasing frontage being 'detracted' from.

If an MLS stadium costing a third of our stadium can have that you wonder wtf was in the heads of those sanctioning the gas hob effect we have.

Looks like something off a retail park. If I went in that ground and came out with a new mobile phone and a sofa on order I wouldn't be entirely surprised.
