New Everton Stadium

I quite like Indianapolis' Lucas Oil stadium with its nod to an industrial past.
I also like Bilbao's stadium

I suspect the architectural aesthetic of Everton's proposed new stadium will impress. I have a lot of faith in Farhad Moshiri.

Seems like somebody else isn't too impressed with the Spurs design.

Interesting point sir.

Other stadiums that have a nod the city's heritage.

So what would we have in Liverpool for Everton? Echoes of the design to the Liver building?

Re the Lucas Oil stadium I love the inside and quite like the idea of a red brick outside that fits the location and will stand the test of time. It is worth noting that this stadium cost just north of $1bn although it is larger than what we would need and also has a retractable roof that would have added significantly to the cost.

For me it is really important that any new stadium is purpose built for football with a design that helps create an intimidating atmosphere as it is crucial to our performance on the pitch. I am really intrigued to see how well West Ham do at home this season and whether they are hindered by their new stadium which looks to be far from an ideal design.

I want a stadium that makes a statement, a one off piece of architectural art.

The inside needs to deliver in terms of practicality and atmosphere, but the outside should be something visually spectacular.

I was blown away by the Nouveau Stade de Bordeux during the Euros.

I don't want this design (it fails some practicality tests) but I want one as beautiful, modern and original.

What would be really exciting would be if the club had a series of stadium designs and presented them to the fans... In a consultation process.

After Googling for new stadiums around the globe, one can only envy some of the extraordinary buildings that already grace major cities. We all love Goodison but she is looking very tired and worn-out, and so I am resigned to moving home. I just want subtle but instantly recognizable elements incorporated into the new stadium that will hark back to our immense past. The Leitch crisscross design is a good start...

I hear ya!

Apart from the obvious Super stadia such as AA&T , Lucas Oil and Wembley.

Some may not like this ,but the Stadium Hicks & Gillette wanted to build on Stanley park looked fantastic.

Iconic yet modern , great sight lines all round . Catering for every type of fan. Imagine that on the waterfront.

Large steep Home end as Elstone was chirping about. Change the red for Blue , add some Batman lights & Statues of our heritage.....Bingo.

Thing is, there are probably a handful of grounds that from the outside, most folk would recognise.

Wembley, obvs, Millenium Stadium? Allianz, deffo. I dont mean football fans, just people.

That is what we have in our sights it seems. Not just a football ground, but an iconic, "forever", globally recognisable (eventually), home.

*unzips*

IMHO, the inside is all that really matters.

Every seat should have a great view.
NO running track!!!! Pitch as close to the pitch as rules allow.
Steep as allowed. I'm over 6ft & still don't like looking at the back of someone's head!

Plus close & steep creates the best atmosphere & intimidating for the opposition.

Then good amenities. Leg room, short rows (for getting in & out), spacious concourse, quick access to drink, food, bogs.

I'd hope it would be built with safe terracing in mind, in case that's ever allowed.

If it looks fantastic that's a bonus, but obviously that's down to opinion. I love the look of the Alliance Arena, but also think the Lucas Oil looks good.
