New Everton Stadium

Would it be fair to say that the land purchase is the most difficult obstacle to overcome in building the new stadium?

Probably one of two mate, planning is always a potential problem, although in this case it's difficult to see many objections.

The only potential problem I can think of is capacity issues given the lack of transport infrastructure but I assume that will be covered in the development plans. Regardless, a 55/60k stadium should not present a problem in that respect.

Some bluenose on NSNO has apparently had a chat with our Bill last night.

Bill said an announcement is due on Thursday of this coming week about developments re the new stadium.

Once this is announced the good times will roll with signings that will make the rest sit up and pay attention.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Excellent news to start the day.

The full backing of LCC to the build will help us no end in gaining planning permission. There is a real sense that this redevelopment is much more than just a new stadium.

Cheers Esk!

Considering all the false starts we've had previously, i'd be quite happy with them announcing it the day they begin breaking ground on the site.
