He is being used as an example.

Flying a 249g plastic drone 100m above the Mersey is hardly the Hindenburg.

More to the point there are other drone operators that have flown across the Mersey. The law is subjective and just says you need to keep your drone in sight, well what if you got a pair of Dennis Taylor glasses with super magnifying lenses in??

I watched the drone guys video and it sounds like he’s been stitched up big time

How do you get fined over £2000.00 for flying a drone 10 metres higher than you should have by accident but you can punch and assault someone and only have to pay a few hundred quid

MP Mike amesbury who punched his constituent had to pay a victim surcharge in the amount of £154.00

The article posted by Merseyside police says that drone guy had to pay a victim surcharge of £640.00 even though there is no victim.

What a farce

my house is covered in pigeon crap though. Roll call is a nightmare with 200 pigeons.

Well, you get the jist. Done a roll call last night, took me ages and got to Z and bloody Zoe hadn't come home. Had to send Yvonne out to go and find her.
Aldo? Is that you Aldo?

So glad the police have nicked someone for slightly going over a law about how to fly a drone over a densely populated river, where being hit by a piece of plastic is a clear risk to anyone.. To me it restores their credibility after failing to catch Boris Johnson and his mates who were clearly embezzling billions of pounds during covid, with their dodgy contracts.

Glad the serious criminals are always nailed.

I personally know of a lad that swindled loads of people out of several thousand pounds by selling them things that never even existed online (concert tickets, other stuff). The victims presented mountains of evidence to both Action Fraud and the police to the point where their job had been done for them, and they refused to act. It took one of the victims to coordinate for months between about a dozen victims herself and gather the evidence from them all and present it to the police before they finally decided to act. The police are a kin shambles. This is Cheshire Police, but I'm sure Merseyside Police are every bit as bad.
