New Everton Stadium

There's a small set of folks who have been to Goodison and Lucas Oil Stadium, and I'm part of that set.

If you'd like to get a sense of what you're seeing happen here with that reference, let me give a sense of what I see. Imagine a state of the art facility designed to echo the traditional architecture of Archibald Leitch and Goodison, that will be designed to tie to the traditional architecture further down the Mersey in a coherent manner.

The Lucas Oil is based on locally iconic structures like Hinkle Fieldhouse and, of course, the Speedway. It's a great big fieldhouse. If you've ever seen a game in a traditional American basketball fieldhouse, you know that the term "bear pit" is the best description.

This, with modern amenties in a redeveloping vibrant Mersey waterfront.

Strange question mate, but does it look, if you have never seen it before, like a football/sports stadium, or like a massive warehouse?

In other words, would a non sporting person see and immediately know it is a stadium??

Yeah but it houses a losing team so we need something for winner.
