New Everton Stadium

My lad was asked if he had any food and he owned up to having some sugary sweets in his pocket because he had done the half marathon that morning. The steward let him through. I wasn’t asked.

…Mrs Eggs had a few snacks for our 3yo grandson and there was no problem taking them in. They sampled the catering as well, like decent people paying for what they had ;)

For anybody not wanting to queue for the Dock Rd bridge, you can normally cut through the Titanic Hotel Car Park as there’s an exit at the opposite end.

Food was confiscated at the gate. My wife was only trying to take a large bag of peanuts in... they checked her bag and removed them. Not sure what will happen to the tea flask and butty brigade haha.

Is this what you mean by a large bag?

That's a bit strong Tom . Are they going to stop people having a bar of chocolate or a bag of sweets in their pocket ?.

Tbh, I didn't notice because we were already 15 mins late and I'd walked through with my son as they were checking her bag. I turned back to see her removing a bag. There was quite a lot of removed items on the table. They didn't check my pockets, so I'm assuming that's where to hide your goodies haha. As I said, I don't know where that leaves the flask and sandwich gang.... or someone carrying their fish and chips.

On Sunday they had staff on the car park entrance to prevent fans from doing this. I recall there were other staff on the other cut through roads as well.

Each road had hi viz staff. I did not see any challenges but I was able to cross the bridge before the queues started.
Huh, surely couldnt stop you walking down Walter street, not exactly Downing street.
Worse case Blackstone street, just to get back to the lime street station.
