New Everton Stadium

From what I can tell, there has been absolutely nothing to ever suggest Qatar Airways would be a sponsor other than fan speculation alongside Toyota and Bank of America.

Wouldn't exactly roll off the tongue like The Lexus or The Megafon would.

this is from january 2023 like https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...tar-Airways-potential-naming-rights-deal.html but not sure if reliable. heard the bank of america ones from fans and I think Toyota is due to the TFG, hopefully whoever we get is a nice pay day for the club.

I don't think so.

It's already referred to as Everton Stadium more than Bramley Moore Dock. It was only BMD in our consciousness for about 3 years.

Nobody refers to Emirates as Ashburton Grove.

Lansdowne Road was one of the most historic sports grounds in Europe. It was there for 100+ years as the home of Irish rugby and then football. Nobody though it would be called anything else. Now its only referred to as The Aviva.
the Emirates sounds good as a stadium name though, Barca's is known as the Nou Camp, not the Spotify nou camp

Think i'll always call it Bramley Moore, tv etc will call it by any sponsorship name

"Qatar Airways Stadium" doesn't roll off the tongue. But that will not be a concern to anyone making a deal, if there is one to be made.

It might make sense to align them as primary shirt sponsor as well like Arsenal have done with Emirates, once the stake deal ends.

Have to wait and see what transpires but it's good to be linked with brands of global repute.

Apt name when freezing your wotsits off and have a stinking cold watching the match on a glacial night in January.

I wonder if it was to do with the space constriction as opposed to a weight restriction?

Would be nice if whoever decided it was necessary could let us know!

The fella on the umpire chair said it was weight restrictions. Thats the only source we have for that reasoning. Everybody else has said its not, so I'll be guessing that its him that's wrong rather than Peel or the club. The road narrows as it leads onto the bridge, Im pretty certain that's the reason for the system.
