I can see there being a fair few objections to building on park land

A fair few objected to Liverpool planning to build on Stanley Park but they still got planning permission.

This is why the club has been 'in talks' with LCC so much. If it wasn't public parkland, LCC wouldn't be under any pressure to help us.

Yes i agree a fair few objected to it and that was with the nonsense they spouted about enriching the whole Anfield area, talks are just talks
Ill wait and see what comes out of the ongoing discussion with LCC

Exactly. Both clubs doing well on the pitch will undoubtedly to some extent benefit the City, due the fact it brings in extra revenue and highlights the city to those outside of the boundaries.

It's therefore in their best interest to support us as much as possible.

The Single Tier Park End was the fault of the previous board, not the current one.

It was Peter Johnson who rejected the idea of a two tier Park End, because he didn't think there was a need for it.

Peter Johnson actually wanted a two tier stand, but the plans and building work was too far gone. The board of Dr Marsh and a certain Bill Kenwright went for the cheap short term solution.

The thing is, let's say the announcement is going to be made this week. This would be an announcement that LCC will have full knowledge of and no doubt support. There's no way we're announcing a new stadium without the backing of LCC or any sort of LCC involvement.

Joe Anderson has been hinting on his Twitter for months that there have been talks between Everton and LCC going on in the background, so it's not like any of this is the figment of anyone's imagination.

You say that like its a fact ,instead of your individual opinion. Kenwright had the vision but as we know not the money to make the dock a reality. Look at where Kenwright has taken us with very little money since the Peter Johnson Era. Its hard to argue its not progressed.

We needed 30 million for Kings Dock, he said the money was ring fenced.

Johnson was the owner, he called the shots. Dr David Marsh had no power at all.

It all depends on how the park was donated to the Council and how important the park is to the Council's overall open spaces strategy. Croccy Park for example was given to the people of Liverpool by Lady Sefton (an American FYI US Blues). That can't be touched. But Walton Hall must be able to be used and they must not think it is worthy enough or used enough to keep. They may say Goodison needs to be turned in to a green space as recompense

No it wasnt.

You need to go back four or five chairmen to apportion the blame.

The Park End was 'planned' in the days of Pip Carter and David Marsh in the early 1990s.

Nearly 20 years of dust on the trophy cabinet suggests otherwise. We have to look at it with eyes wide open and say that Kenwright was not the right man for the job with how little money he had. In all honesty we needed someone with a bit more clout than Kenwright. In our History when was the last time we went almost 20 years without a trophy (War years do not count). We are in our most barren spell since we were formed. It would of been nice just to win the odd league cup like B'ham, Spurs, Boro, Blackburn, Leicester and Villa or FA Cup like Wigan and Portsmouth for example.
