New Everton Stadium

It's interesting to see on page 6 of the booklet that there is a map of the docks where the Bramley-Moore and adjacent Nelsen Docks are shown as World Heritage sites, yet the Trafalger Dock is not, presumably as it's been filled in.

I don't know if this will have any affect on the decision.

Also, if it is going to be one of the northern most docks that have water in them, instead of filling it in would it be possible to turn it into an underground car park ?

I thought that utilizing the dock rather than filling it in would be a good idea too. not only could you have a underground car park but you could also have extensive facility's for the players like gyms, physio rooms ect. You could even have the pitch slightly below ground allowing greater capacity for the stands without having to go too high.

Been looking.

There's a tunnel that's in very good condition, closed in the 70s that runs with spitting distance of the docks

Sorry is this has been done before, don't read EVERY page of this thread.

Was looking at this the other day. If I'm correct, the exit tunnel is across the road from Costco (yup, they built a wopping great cash and carry in the way!) - the remains of one of the stations is next to the vent shaft for the Kingsway tunnel. Would be brilliant if it could be brought back into service - not sure where the rail line could go to reach where the stadium will be as the exit is at ground level. Interesting option though.

Great idea. Then when all the Wirral rats attempt to come over on the boats loads of cannons appear out the side of our new stadium and kids get to sink them as part of the Foreverton Membership.

Any Wirral boats that make it over to the banks of the royal blue Mersey get bleached and sent right back.

Well that's an idea. But if you do away with the Wirral contingent of the Everton support base, then the average IQ and income per capita of Everton fans would plummet. So you have to consider the pros and cons of your proposal you crown green bellfruit.

Yeah right over the road from the Costco. Seems a little cramped right there with the above ground rail, main road and the vent shaft but if they can build what they need and get people to a foot bridge and aim to the run down stuff and just compulsory purchase it to become a walkway.

I think Trafalgar and Clarence Graving Docks are part of the WHS, the empty land adjacent to them isn't. Surprisingly the canal leading to Princes dock isn't either.

Possibly mate but, probably more to do with what land Peel was willing to sell, as I don't think anyone in power is particularly fussed over losing the heritage status, if it means jobs etc.

You can do that mate but, I'm not a structural engineer so wouldn't know the span between any piles/columns to support the load for the stadium.
Then there would be the road/ramp down to the car park and whether there's enough space to do that as per ratio of slope regs?
