New Everton Stadium

Been looking.

There's a tunnel that's in very good condition, closed in the 70s that runs with spitting distance of the docks

The top red line in this map runs from edge hill

Google maps

If you want to see the end of the tunnel

The council and the club (Moshiri being forward thinking) will love this idea. Everton Football Club within its own subway system link and station.

Not even a case of cross rail.

More like a tunnel refurb.

Through regular, albeit limited maintenance, the Wapping and Victoria Tunnels are in very good condition and are still used by NR for supplies.

There's also already numerous plans in place by Merseyrail and the LA for one or both of the tunnels to be put back into use in the future.

Obviously this doesn't mean that it would be asimple procedure at all and would take an awful lot of work, but it's certainly more than a pipe dream.

If you ever get a chance to walk either as well then I'd certainly recommend it; a rather interesting opportunity.

Apologies, if either of these have been put on already.

Pages 36 and 38 give overview, with enough detail to maybe rule out this location for the stadium (land further down than Clarence dock and perhaps too much re-jigging of plans for Peel etc)?
So perhaps further lending truth to rumours of Bramley-Moore dock.

It's interesting to see on page 6 of the booklet that there is a map of the docks where the Bramley-Moore and adjacent Nelsen Docks are shown as World Heritage sites, yet the Trafalger Dock is not, presumably as it's been filled in.

I don't know if this will have any affect on the decision.

Also, if it is going to be one of the northern most docks that have water in them, instead of filling it in would it be possible to turn it into an underground car park ?
