New Everton Stadium

We could do worse than that design. If we beat that then we will have something special.
I agree it's a great design, especially on the inside. Spurs fans should be made up. When completed it looks like it will be the best ground in the country.

but hopefully not for long..

A Liverpool waterfront location simply can't be beaten. That alone will make it the best stadium in the country, providing it's not a soulless bowl or boring flat pack stadium.

Thankfully I think it will be neither of those things.

@RobSpurs I've read quite a bit into your new stadium and I have the impression that it's fan drive, rather than purely consumer driven.

Obviously there's features to add longevity and affordability (the NFL aspect), but there's been a huge emphasis on making it a football stadium.

From all accounts it's not going to be a soulless bowl simply there to ring the coffers of the fans, yet it's been engineered to make an atmosphere.

With the huge single tier, a good balance of corporate and standard seating and nice atriums to meet up before hand it'll be top notch.

But then it has the adaptability to induce revenue (for example the NFL pitch) without hopefully hampering the footballing aspects too much.

Add to that it'll certainly annoy the Arsenal fans and damage their enlarged egos so it's a big, big plus from me!

And if you don't dislike those lot across the park too much then I'd recommend a specific thread in the World Football forum... eye opening!

Reminds me of a cruise liner from outside. Interior looks good. But the whole package doesnt make me go wow.

Various animals have been suggested but a cruise liner is definitely a new one.

I think the big difference between what we're doing and what Everton could be doing is that our stadium will never really been seen in its entirety (with the possible exception of from the Sky Sports helicopter). It is still part of the High Road with buildings enclosing it from most sides. In terms of exterior materials, the speculation is that it could end up looking like the First Direct Arena in Leeds which does look stunning, especially at night. And the main wow factor externally will come from the huge glass fronted south stand which should look amazing and going by the renders should allow people to glimpse inside the stadium as they're approaching.

So yeah, different philosophies at play here. Yours will (hopefully) be a stadium seen from a distance across the water, ours will emerge like a huge UFO from the surroundings only when you're quite near it.

It's definitely a pre cursor to something else, at a guess I'd say it will be the old lady has served us well but is no longer fit for purpose. It is with a heavy heart blah blah blah we must leave
