New Ground...

hang on, i said i DONT WANNA LEAVE GOODISON, and kirkby is liverpool

Technically Kirkby is in Knowsley, a different council area. Kirkby has more scousers than Everton does these days, It will be Evertonians watching Everton in Evertons stadium so it really doesn't matter that much. If you come from Wirral side it will be that bit harder to get to although the M57 is handy as is Switch Island with the M58, Dunningsbridge Road and A59 all meeting at that point. I hope that they do something with the railway, say put a link line to the underground system would be brilliant.

Which is why we have to have Tesco on our side when we do this, to have transport improved just for us is unrealistic, if however we have a ground and a shopping centre on the same site then that will be looked upon as renevation of the whole area and so the transport will be given a boost too.

I have so many questions about this 'deal' that it is unbearable.

Will moving outside of the 'city boundary' mean we forfeit any regeneration money?

If we are getting into bed with tesco, will the actual stadium and the land it is sited on actually belong to Everton Football Club?

Horror of horrors, what corporate name will we brand our new stadium? (- in 10 years time will the emirates stadium still be named the emirates stadium or will it be rebranded? and will it make a difference?)

With regards land, should Everton Football Club wish to expand the stadium in 20 or 30 years time to make it a 70,000 seater, will the adjoining land at the proposed site be available? (i will bust a nut if we end up swapping one land locked stadium for another)

How will corporate facilities/boxes/areas be incorporated into the new stadium? the man ure way or the arsenal way? (the man ure corp boxes are above and at the back of the general seating areas where 'ordinary' fans sit, whereas at arsenal the boxes are more prominent and dont allow for the box occupants to see much of the crowd (the crowd actually closest to them*)

Will Everton FC only be getting a stadium? or will there be a megastore? or an associated JJB store? Will there be everton owned and ran bars connected to the stadium or will there be a 'free for all' for licences in the area?

Car parking space, will there be a multi storey car park owned by the club specially for events at the stadium? ie. charging a £5 a car for secure parking in the club car park?

What accomodations will be afforded away fans? will there be a [Poor language removed] seating arrangement like at St. James's? or will away fans get a decent seating plan like they currently do in the bullens?

- Also, what bars will be available to away day supporters? coach spaces? security?

Will Robert Earl (or anybody else) be looking to bring a restaurant or casino to the 'build'?

If the build is going to be a 55,000 all seater stadium, with better toilets and refreshment areas, will the club commit to cutting ticket prices (even if that only means season ticket prices) in the hope of actually cramming 50k+ people into the stadium, instead of having a half empty stadium where the fans have payed 'top dollar' ?
After all, better getting 50k in paying £15 and then having 50k buying pints, pies, shirts, and scarves, than having 25k in at £30 and seeing much less uptake in associated club revenue streams.

Will the club be taking 'Dixie', and where do they plan on situating him?

Will the stadium have an outstanding point of architecture? wembley has the arch, anfield has the kop, a stadium in germany has a skin that is illuminated, another german stadium has towers..etc.

Will the stadium have a retractible roof?

What other events do the club plan on bringing to the stadium? music events? exhibitions? motor shows?

Will there be an attached museum where Everton historical artefacts can be displayed?

What will the new stands be named?

What is the actual forcast cost of this new stadium to the club? Will it be Everton money or Tesco money? hence the question above about outright ownership.

If we are going to name 4 stands, we could do a lot worse than

the william ralph dean stand
the brian labone stand
the neville southall stand
the howard kendall stand

a statue tribute to each of these players on the outsides of their respectivley named stands would be a nice touch (similar to the busby statue at man ure)

don't know. but out of the city gets a big thumbs down from me.

If we are getting into bed with tesco, will the actual stadium and the land it is sited on actually belong to Everton Football Club?

again it depends on how the board play this. i think no evertonian wants to rent a new stadium. do the board have it in them to look after our long term future??

Horror of horrors, what corporate name will we brand our new stadium? (- in 10 years time will the emirates stadium still be named the emirates stadium or will it be rebranded? and will it make a difference?)

boro played in the bt cellnet stadium for 5 years before it was renamed the riverside. it does make sense to help finance the stadium. but on a naming lease, not a permanant naming deal!

With regards land, should Everton Football Club wish to expand the stadium in 20 or 30 years time to make it a 70,000 seater, will the adjoining land at the proposed site be available? (i will bust a nut if we end up swapping one land locked stadium for another)

i think 55,000 will be plenty for the time being. if we get a groovy tight little ground that crams in 55,000 right over the pitch we will all be happy. perhaps i'm not seeing the big picture, but i can't ever see us with 70,000 at home games. still, there should be some scope to add an extra tier or two on to the stands if need be.

How will corporate facilities/boxes/areas be incorporated into the new stadium? the man ure way or the arsenal way? no doubt an area of discussion at high level. i'm sure this is an important issue, but one i have least interest in. away from the pitch and off camera if possible.

Will Everton FC only be getting a stadium? or will there be a megastore? or an associated JJB store? Will there be everton owned and ran bars connected to the stadium or will there be a 'free for all' for licences in the area?

i'm sure with this new boy from the states on board there will be a small 'everton village'. i think bars, shops, supermarket(!) and even a cinema within the stadium complex. all tied in to the everton brand one would hope.

Car parking space, will there be a multi storey car park owned by the club specially for events at the stadium? ie. charging a £5 a car for secure parking in the club car park?

well this sounds like it will happen. especially if there will be a supermarket and retail district. all the better for the matchday experience.

What accomodations will be afforded away fans? will there be a [Poor language removed] seating arrangement like at St. James's? or will away fans get a decent seating plan like they currently do in the bullens?

i like the idea of away fans being able to contribute to the atmosphere and help the evertonians find their voice. i'm sure many would liked them tucked away like at newcastle (this for me shows the insecurities the club has as a whole) but i'd like a visable away support like at the emirates.

- Also, what bars will be available to away day supporters? coach spaces? security?

with a new complex who knows? perhaps just the bar closest to the away end could be away supporter friendly.

Will Robert Earl (or anybody else) be looking to bring a restaurant or casino to the 'build'?

the answer to this is YES. have no doubt he will be using this new stadium as a new opportunity for his business portfolio.

If the build is going to be a 55,000 all seater stadium, with better toilets and refreshment areas, will the club commit to cutting ticket prices (even if that only means season ticket prices) in the hope of actually cramming 50k+ people into the stadium, instead of having a half empty stadium where the fans have payed 'top dollar' ?

i don't think we will see a cut in price. especially as drastic as you have outlined. anyone else think differently?

Will the club be taking 'Dixie', and where do they plan on situating him?

i have no doubt dixie will be jogging over to the new stadium. i'm sure everyone has different ideas where he should go, but i'd like a more central position. infront of the main stand in the centre of goodison plaza.

Will the stadium have an outstanding point of architecture? wembley has the arch, anfield has the kop, a stadium in germany has a skin that is illuminated, another german stadium has towers..etc.

this is very important. nobody wants a 'kit' stadium. it must be unique in some way. ideas?

Will the stadium have a retractible roof?

i doubt it. very much.

What other events do the club plan on bringing to the stadium? music events? exhibitions? motor shows?

with robert earl rest assured we will be having more off field events than the red [Poor language removed]. a motor show sounds cool. but what if it rains!

Will there be an attached museum where Everton historical artefacts can be displayed?

i saw the p.n.e museum and it was really excellent. an everton museum, ofcourse, would be cool but a football league museum would be interesting for the visiting supporters also.

What will the new stands be named?

north, south, east, west? :)

What is the actual forcast cost of this new stadium to the club? Will it be Everton money or Tesco money? hence the question above about outright ownership.

well it is clear with our current board we cannot finance a stadium without assistance. a buy back lease seems likely.

The whole of the city thing is a shitty point thats got people get uptight about. Kirkby is scouse and everyone considers themselves part of Liverpool, all my mates consider Kirkby part of Liverpool too. The only difference is the wheelie bin colour for [Poor language removed] sake.

The bottom line is that if pass up the chance to have a brand spanking new, quality stadium with increased revenue then I'm all for it. Its less than four miles from Goodison. And a five minute walk from me mars house. Great, unless you live in Cuba.

I found this article on nsno this morning, Walton Hall Park is now being muted as an alternative site, I wonder what the local may make of that? I'm growing increasingly concerned at the lack of action especially as the rs are revising plans for the agreed site in Stanley Park, revised capacity expected to be greater than Old Trafford. Any new stadium we have must have space for at least 60,000 fans or we will never compete with them, it would become a financial impossibility. My advice to all those haggling over these matters is pull your bloody fingers out and make progress quickly, no matter what the decsion is.

A significant number of Evertonians met at the weekend to discuss their concerns at the proposed move of Everton FC to Kirkby, which lies outside the boundaries of Liverpool. The Club claim that they currently have an exclusivity agreement with Knowsley Council and Tesco plc, which prevents them from exploring alternative locations for a new stadium. A number of fans are growingly increasingly frustrated by what they consider is a “done deal” with Tesco and Knowsley. They feel that they are being bullied into believing that the only way that the Club can progress is to sell its heritage to a supermarket in return for a stadium outside the City boundaries. Supporters have therefore launched the “Keep Everton In Our City” campaign and have vowed to pool ideas and put forward alternatives which would show the Chairman of Everton FC that there is indeed another way.

The meeting was attended by Council Leader and season ticket holder Warren Bradley. He spoke passionately about his desire to keep the club in the city. He stated that from a professional point of view, allowing a business the size of Everton to leave the City would be tantamount to financial suicide. Indeed, he has already identified two sites within the city which the Club could use for redevelopment, as well as finding at least one commercial partner to help fund a development in the North end of the City. He is also exploring the possibility of extending the footprint at Goodison to enable the Club to redevelop on its current site. The Club are aware of these possible options but prefer to see out the “exclusivity” period with Tesco and Knowsley.

Warren Bradley has also agreed to enquire into the possibility of re-building the stadium in Walton Hall Park which lies just yards from Goodison Park.

Supporters at the meeting pledged to continue to identify as many alternatives within the City boundaries as possible. We owe it to both past and future generations to do everything in our power to ensure that the City’s first Club stays within the City.

smells like political spin to me, the council 'could' say "we will only let you increase capacity if you share the ground" , cesspool fc then say their hand was forced and they will let us share begrudgingly.

it means better european money and government cash for the build that we will also have to contribute too. it makes good business sense and why would those two yanquis give a toss about the people of liverpool or easyjetters from norway.

Listen very closely Suits ching ching ching, sounds like cash to me mate:unsure:  ;)

Let's have some realism here.

Why cannot GP be redeveloped?

Because it would cost millions which we do not have.

Why did King's Dock fail?

Because it would cost millions which we do not have.

Why is no other piece of land in LIverpool any use to us, like Wally hall Park?

Because it would cost millions which we do not have.

Why go to Kirkby?

Because it will not cost millions which we do not have.

And as for those people who say they will not go to Kirkby to support the Blues. Call yourself supporters, get a life.

As I said earlier Robert
