As regards mass-transit rail access at the existing EFC & LFC sites, on the Canada Dock branch line two stations with two platform can be built with one near to each ground. One at Walton Hall RD for EFC and one at he bottom of Ince Ave for LFC. Fan can walk between the two via Cherry Land. EFC fans could walk through the cemetery to the bottom of Ince Ave. Have both used on match days, giving 4 platforms. The platforms can be double length to accommodate two trains at a time. Both leave at the same time. That is 8 trains waiting for the game to finish and at approx 950 in a six car train maximum, that is about 7,500 shifted immediately, then other waiting trains running onto the platforms. They could shift 30,000 per hour. The trains can run to Lime street (changing to Wirral Line and lines to St.Helens and Wigan) and Southport via Bootle, and also via Edge Hill junction to South Parkway via Mosley Hill and onto Hunts X. All of Merseyside is covered. Few would want to use cars or buses. Think London Tube.

would be good for those areas currently without a station, jobs less traffic ect never mind matchdays

Two points, first is that an old ordnance survey map you're using? Second, there is a redundant station on Queens road where the dole office was/is, bottom of Walton lane, Ince ave is far too residential and would mean disrupting the cemetery and your idea of supporters trampsing through the cemetery is disrespectful tbh. And I don't want the Eiffel tower in the park end either thanks

we could get one of those happy trains they use around resorts in Spain ect to take the fans through the cemetery, there very quite, and if Liverpool were at home it could bring the tourists on a trail of famous people buried in the cemetery before the match here are a few
Michael Holliday - singer in the 60s who had a number one hit with Story Of My Life and provided the voice of sheriff Tex Tucker from the series Four Feather Falls. Buried under his real name, Norman Alexander Milne.

James Maybrick - cotton merchant suspected of being Jack the Ripper. His wife was convicted of his murder by poisoning.

William Wallace - "The Man From The Pru" successfully appealed after being found guilty of the murder of his wife. The murder remains a mystery.

Michael James Whitty - first head constable of Liverpool police and fire brigade, went on to found the ECHO's sister paper, the Daily Post.

Some famous names in Anfield include Alf Garnett, Jimmy Tarbuck, Tommy Cooper, Billy Connolly and Jimmy Hill though they are not the celebrity ones.

There is also a young man called Dolphin Fish,
we could get Derek Acorah to do a turn or Tom Sleman to tell a tale or two and collect the fares, already few bob and a job or two already here for the city.

You missed it. I said a station at Walton Lane for EFC and one at Ince Ave for LFC, which "was" being considered for LFCs new stadium or expansion of Anfield - look at the red circles on the map for proposed station locations. Fans can get between the two stations via Cherry Lane, and the two stations double capacity. As you pointed out walking through the cemetery is disrespectful, but the most direct route to Ince Ave station. The Eiffel(Watkins) Tower was in relation to Wembley not Walton - pay attention at the back! - which I am sure you never knew. And I wouldn't mind one in Stanley Park at all. The map is not that old, look at it. The Canada Dock Branch Line, EFC & LFC and the roads are still the same. The map shows the line, which can run to South Parkway station via the East Coast Main Line spur via Mossley Hill and reaches a lot of the south of the city without a change. The line accesses Lime St and South Parkway for changes to regional and long haul lines. One third of all EFC season ticket holders come from the Wirral. The line is easy for a change to the Wirral Line at Lime St. Trains can come in directly from Wigan/St. Helens and Huyton and run onto the Canada Dock line via Edge Hill junction and hence directly to the stadia

That is how it stands now which is relatively easy to do by electrifying about 4 miles of track and build cheap throw up stations. If the Edge Hill project was restarted, which was using the mothballed 1829 Wapping tunnel from Edge Hill to Central stn, trains could run directly to the Wirral from Walton. That will come, but when is another matter as the DfT only spend money in London - Crossrail is £18bn, while a few paltry millions will make all the difference to the City of Liverpool.

But I hope none of this happens and both clubs find new homes on the eastern section of a newly recommissioned Merseyrail Outer Loop line which is a far better line to get around Merseyside.

There is a mass grave of Irish who died in the famine at the cemetery. At a service at the Anglican cathedral all the names in the grave were read out as the service progressed.

wapping tunnel was inspected a few years ago by network rail engineers , resulting in testing the structure ect they were pleasantly supprised at the good state it was in bit of minor flooding in bits, but over all nothing to worry about, latest rumour is halton council pushing for extra stations and upgrade of the line and a spur to enable lime st to chester direct , one station by the jag plant that would fit into your plan nicely

Looking at Google Earth there could be one station with long platforms from Walton Lane to Ince Av accommodating a couple of trains on each platform. Have entrances at Ince Ave and Walton lane. Simple and sorted.

Halton want the single track Halton Curve at Runcorn uprated which will take direct train traffic from North Wales, Chester, Runcorn and Widnes to primarily South Parkway for airport access and also secondry onto Lime St for city centre access. Chester already has direct city centre access via Merseyrail. The station suggestion at the Jaguar plant is to improve job prospects for people in Halton. As you say, the line will give easy access to a wider fanbase for the stadia. Get them there easy, in comfort and fast and they will come. Expect West Ham to be a big club in 10 years time, as the Olympic stadium has a number of lines converging at the stadium - Crossrail amongst them. They will turn up. BTW the Wapping tunnel was last used in 1972. It was used from 1830 for 142 years without any problems. No doubt it will last for a 1000 years or more, unless we have an earthquake. It was the first rail tunnel ever to be bored under a metropolis - history under our feet, that can be still used for us right now.

Canada Dock Branch Line in blue. Look at the bottom and see the white and green rectangle. That was the proposed site of an EFC stadium. It is excellent being alongside Newsham Park and great road links to the M62, Queens Drive, East Prescot Rd, etc. And could have a large easy to construct mas-transit station. HMG is promoting rail like hell. New closed lines are opening up all over the country. The rail network at points is bursting. Rail has never been so popular. Rail is far more eco in many aspects and cuts right though polluting traffic jams carrying masses of people. So expect EFC & LFC to be forced near to rail lines if new stadia is on the cards.

There is always one isn't there !! I am sure in your life he is very real. Read the posts and understand. Any real reservations get back to us. Thomas I am sure is fine. Try asking him? Do they have trains in Jockoland?
