New manager

Alex Ferguson and Ancelotti have always updated and refreshed their coaches to bring in modern, fresh coaching ideas, then they used their excellent man-management skills on top of that.

Most managers only have a short cycle of use 10-15 years and then they need to change it up or move on. The only way the top long-serving managers stay at the top is changing up the coaching.
Ferguson ‘scouted’ Ronaldo himself, in fact they were at the Sporting Lisbon game to watch another player, I think it was Nani, Ronaldo just stood out in that game and the rest is history.

I thought the story was Roy Keane and other players insisted they sign him after a friendly?
Could be right mate that the opposition was actually United, I think the idea was tho that Ferguson and his assistant who I think at the time was Carlos Queiroz went to watch Nani but Ronaldo ran them ragged and Ferguson wouldn’t leave the stadium after the game until he had persuaded Sporting to sell him. They did also sign Nani after signing Ronaldo I think.

Still think Antonio Conte is worth a shout, it's so blatantly obvious our players are unfit and he's possibly one of the toughest managers with his fitness and diet regime. And he's won a few games which helps.
