New manager

I haven’t heard a single Utd or Spurs fan who think they made the wrong decision. The guy is absolutely toxic.
That may be the case, but the idea that Mourinho was the problem at those clubs has been shown up as patently untrue. Both are actually worse off without him than they supposedly were with him.

Regardless, I wouldn't worry. The forum is just temporarily indulging in some despair-fuelled flights of fancy tonight. Wait until we announce Nathan Jones as our new manager.

The fans of both clubs didn’t like him because the style of play was terrible. He got sacked for a reason at both clubs.
Ah ok Sorry .

I read you said he didn’t do particularly good . I was pointing out is actual record rather than fan opinions . I don’t know enough united or spurs fans to comment .

I do know nobody has finished higher than mourinho at united in recent times other than Sir Alex . The fella has won what half of united’s trophies since SAF left , I reckon united fans would be delighted if this new fella won 2 trophies this year or even 2 over the next 3 years .

Exactly I don’t think we’ll get him and I don’t think he’s what he was. However the idea that a club whose been in relegation battles for the last 4 or 5 years and hasn’t won a trophy in 30 is too good for a bloke with 26 of them and whose failures are sited as finishing second winning two trophies with united and getting to a cup final with spurs blows my mind .

I don’t think Utd fans even consider the Europa a trophy. He’s has no record for signing and developing young players, shopping in the bargain basement end of the market or for working and motivating average players. He’d be worse than Dyche.

It’s not that we’re too good. It’s just his particular skill set is not suited to a club in our position. I wouldn’t want Pep to be our manager either for the same reason. We need someone who can motivate and work with average players and who can spot and develop young talent. Mourinho is not that guy and never was. And even if we were in a position were an elite coach was justified Jose is no longer elite. He’s living on past glories.

I think you make a reasonable point and I don’t think he’s where he was . However a bloke who won a European trophy a couple of years ago , losing a European final the year after and whose worst years at any club he’s been at are producing better PPG than we’ve seen for what decades feels like he could do a job at a side who’ve scored about 29 goals in a calendar year .

Not really. They used to winning League Titles and getting to Champions League finals, not playing in some glorified plate competition.
They haven’t won a league title for 12 years and their last champions league final was about 15 years ago . I suppose we have different definitions of ‘they’re used to ‘ . They’re currently 13th and finished 8th last year didn’t they ?

Unless you mean ‘they used ‘ win titles and get to champions league finals because yeah they definitely used to .
