It’s just a never ending cycle of crapness isn’t it? Utterly grim. After having Allardyce, Benitez and Dyche, there isn’t a manager out there that I’m worried about having, I’ve given up.
Has he ever in his career turned around the fortunes of a struggling club on a low budget? Marco Silva was the best manager for a club in our situation and we got rid too soon. We need to find the next Moyes or Marco Silva and when we are a regular top half team and PRS is behind us we can be more ambitious.I think you make a reasonable point and I don’t think he’s where he was . However a bloke who won a European trophy a couple of years ago , losing a European final the year after and whose worst years at any club he’s been at are producing better PPG than we’ve seen for what decades feels like he could do a job at a side who’ve scored about 29 goals in a calendar year .
114 of those games were in the Premier League... And he was sacked in 4th in the Championship after a win.Southgate’s record at Middlesbrough

Win percentage 29.80. Sacked and replaced by Gordon Strachan. It’s a no from me.

If we get Southgate I'll resign as supporter. It was bad enough watching his ham fisted negative management of a great England squad that I don't really care about.114 of those games were in the Premier League... And he was sacked in 4th in the Championship after a win.
The experienced Strachan then went on to have a 28% win percentage solely in the Championship, just for perspective, before being sacked.
Southgate was also taking his first job after retiring from playing and kept Boro in the Prem twice before going down after Steve Gibson basically stopped spending money.
We could do worse than a good man manager like him, but not a chance he'd come here anyway, thankfully many would no doubt say.
He did alright for around 6 years. If we get Southgate I'll resign as supporter. It was bad enough watching his ham fisted negative management of a great England squad that I don't really care about.
I’d like a charismatic preferably young manager with ability and a decent potential career ceiling who can push us on . In the position we are I firmly believe that having a character to connect with the crowd isn’t far off being as important as the man’s ability.Has he ever in his career turned around the fortunes of a struggling club on a low budget? Now on this we do agreeIf we get Southgate I'll resign as supporter. It was bad enough watching his ham fisted negative management of a great England squad that I don't really care about.
