The experienced Strachan then went on to have a 28% win percentage solely in the Championship, just for perspective, before being sacked.

Southgate was also taking his first job after retiring from playing and kept Boro in the Prem twice before going down after Steve Gibson basically stopped spending money.

We could do worse than a good man manager like him, but not a chance he'd come here anyway, thankfully many would no doubt say.

What are you on about “kept Boro in the Prem twice”? When he took over they were coming off the back of a UEFA Cup final. That he took them from that position to relegation in just 3 years is actually hilarious.

The friedkins have had months waiting for the approvals to make a decision on dyche. This isn’t a two week timeframe. They should have preempted his results wouldn’t get better and they’d need to make an immediate change.

I would like to think the decision has already been made and will not be swayed by the result tonight. We should be able to beat Peterborough without a manager at all, I don’t think he could take any credit for it.

The fella would probably want to change whole culture of club (which is good), and the fans would hate his football.

It's somewhat hard on the eye, but somewhat effective. But i don't see why Southgate would ever take a job again? 6 years England manager @ £6m a year. Regarded highly. Why ruin any reputation, why not just enjoy retirement (which he's also alluded to)?

Southgate has always had the benefit of having a very strong team and mostly favourable draws. He’d be a disaster here I think.

His only spell in club football was incredibly unimpressive to say the least.

It's set up to be Duncan with Wayne as his assistant, possibly Rhino as Fitness Coach and Stubbs as Nutritional Expert. Bring back Jeffers too as Young Development Officer (YDO), and why not extend an invitation to Rodwell as Head Physio? While we're at it, Jose Baxter would make a fine Careers Guidance Coach (CGC).

No - I completely agree.

But i just feel fans would get frustrated fairly quickly. For me, I have utmost respect for him.

Very likeable character, but I think we need someone with a serious backbone in the immediate future.

Couldnt agree more, we should be smashing this defence, but as we all know... this clot doesnt know how to attack... hes like the absolute opposite of martinez, without the apparent ability to pas the ball...

Southgate has more reverse gears than Dyche! Also, International football is nowhere near as demanding as league football. I'd have serious reservations that he could be the coach to improve us.
