New manager

I have another shout, Danny Rohl from Sheffield Wednesday. He's been nothing short of brilliant for them. They're pushing for playoffs on a limited budget and they play some good stuff. At times I think he's maybe a bit too insistent on playing out, which I'm not a big fan of, but I think he could be a decent choice. Personally, I'd prefer if we go for a young up and comer as opposed to someone already established such as Southgate, Moyes, etc.

I see Esk, on his podcast with @AndyC and George, has made the case for *checks notes* Sir Gareth Southgate to be the next Everton manager.

Thoughts and prayers, etc., @MikeH72
Good god noooooooooooo. Unfortunately some people have the platform to speak absolute trash at times. Even though I generally do listen to the podcast and agree with a lot of what they say but would be totally against this appointment and I’m surprised they have peddled Southgate if they have of course

I would be horrified with Southgate and not happy to have Potter but I'll take them over 5/6 more months of Dyche. I'd take Sam Allardyce FFS even though we barely had shots on target he did win games. I'd be interested to know how Allardyche did in those few months compared to Dyche so far this season. Similar amount of games?

Well probably better, because we had a better team, but the stats were horrific by the end of the season. You finish 8th but we were near the bottom for a lot of stats

but we were near the bottom for a lot of stats

As we are now ......

I know the player quality has gone down, but I disagree with this suggestion that the squad is rubbish. The players are better than what we're at I lay the blame squarely at Dyche for his tactics and coaching. I would suggest if we had a better coach with a more progressive outlook (minimum change) then we'd be in a far better position. I think If Dyche was in charge of Forest they'd be well below the top half. (Like I said in another post maybe maybe not as he actually cares about Forest).

I'd like Carsley because I like Carsley but he would need huge backing plus a very strong backroom staff.

He works with youngsters and he is a modern coach.

If we could back him with 2/3 key positions, he could be excellent for us.
Seconded

I agree With everything you say, I hate dyche with a passion and certainty wasn’t sticking up for him, by criticising big Sam
Both are [Poor language removed] managers from the dark ages

Thats good news, never coming then.

Started young as a coach/manager.

Dont know anything about him...whats he been "brilliant" at?

He'd be ideal to come in and run the academy if we needed that position filled.
