New manager

Well in fairness Bobby Robson gets more words than Allegri in that article!

True , but it could be suggested that the moral contained in that inclusion was that any precipitous announcement may inadvertently endanger a future appointment.
It is perhaps also notable that it references Ancelotti as a previous manager who arrived from Italy, having only managed there before.
And then an in-depth article on a previous highly regarded Italian coach who could have been appointed.
Happenstance ?
Page filling ?
Probably.
But it is a curiously lengthy article to be spawned by a vague rumour.
Of course it could be just me wishful thinking and emphasising I need to return to work on Monday to occupy myself with something other than engaging in idle speculation 😬

Always interesting when articles like this appear .
Apparently innocuous and speculative, but subtly specific.
Preparing the ground , perhaps ?
The fact he is over here improving his English , and he was previously associated with TFG with regards to the Roma job , adds fuel to my suspicion.
Even if their mutual intention is to wait until next season , results in the next few games may force their hand .
As ever, we shall see.

He's a good manager that will surely continue to build up on the good defense. I am sure he would do a better job than Dyche and good job overall, but the fans that want him have to consider that he won't bring the exciting football some wish here. His tactics are archaic as well, yet he's tactically on another level.

Big no to Southgate. He'd be swallowed up in 5 minutes by the reality of the situation. This is not "Club England" where a solution can be found for everything and problems can be glossed over until the next tournament. Here he would walk into a full blown crisis. It takes a certain mentality to handle that as well as everything else.

carsley would not have the minerals to take the everton job even if it was offered . he is to comfortable and happy with the gig he has got. was like a fish out of water dealing with the media during his short stint as caretaker for england and he has achieved very little as a player or manager to walk into a big job like this and command players respect . anyone wanting carsley needs to give their head a wobble

I think TFG dont want to change manager ATM. They would prefer to wait until the summer and hire 2 managers that would be be simialr in playing styles IMO for us and Roma. It would be a great oppurtunity to allign the clubs making it easier to move players between clubs. You cant have one club playing Dycheball and the other the beautiful game. I can also see them appointing a Group Sporting Director too.

But this is a results business and Dyche has been s...

Er… let’s get it right.

We didn’t ‘peddle’ Southgate as it is almost inevitable that his name along with Potter will be lazily linked should/when TFG choose to make a change.

Esk offered what he sees as positives were Southgate to be considered as the next Everton manager, our George wasn’t convinced and I was steadfastly against Southgate being considered.
I’ve got to be honest I was a bit surprised when it was suggested about Southgate. I did not listen to last weeks show but I did suggest as such I’m my post.
But I agree with you and George after reading your post.
