New manager

Arsenal then and Everton now, despite both needing rebuilds are in very different situations where they could risk taking on an unproven / relatively unproven manager and giving them time more than we can.

I'd love to get ahead of the curve and nab a manager who may start slow but then get to a level Arteta has with Arsenal but that took c. 3-4 years. Ultimately we need someone that can be like Emery has been for Villa and do the business from day one.
Well unfortunately finding another Emery won’t be an easy task. He is a very talented individual.

Whoever eventually comes in to replace Dyche won’t meet the approval of the whole fan base. That’s just how it works.

I’d rather take a young up and coming coach who has something to prove personally.

In an ideal world that would be great but the task this summer is going to be mammoth off and on the field. I think it's too much to ask a young coach with little to no experience to handle.

My boy Max mentioned in the echo

Always interesting when articles like this appear .
Apparently innocuous and speculative, but subtly specific.
Preparing the ground , perhaps ?
The fact he is over here improving his English , and he was previously associated with TFG with regards to the Roma job , adds fuel to my suspicion.
Even if their mutual intention is to wait until next season , results in the next few games may force their hand .
As ever, we shall see.

Totally agree.

Arteta had no managerial experience prior to taking over at Arsenal. At least Csrsley has a bit more experience under his belt having coached youth and full international teams.

He’s just not a big enough name for the people who frequent the transfer thread too often.
This is why the Director of Football is key.

For me I am 50/50 on Thelwell, I think if he has a normal board and budget, I think some of the players he would have brought in would have been better.

I would look at:
Dan Ashworth,
David Weir at Brighton,
Phil Giles at Brentford
David Frilo at Lyon

Roma appointed Florent Ghisolfi who is very highly thought when he was at Nice and worked with Bournemouth's Tiago Pinto who is another good option.

Ashworth a structure guy -- wouldnt so much be a DOF that could improve the squad with transfers (which we need) more of a builder internally -- potential CEO ?

Weir -- who even can tell what he does at Brighton? They have had systems set up way before he joined.

Giles -- mediocre club driven by data and with a scandinavian focus...similar to Weir, what does he do?

Frilo -- Lyon have made some absolutely dreadful overpriced signings as part of their multiclub strategy as well as seemingly random overpriced signings (Niakhate/Mangala).

They may all be amazing, on the surface im not sure why youve highlighted them though?

Derby goal, kenwright has just punched the air, that so small time mentality
He won’t get a prem job
I understand your point but he has some club management experience with Brentford, Birmingham (Caretaker) and Coventry (Caretaker)

Plus his work at Man City academy, England U20 and U21 is not to be sniffed at.

I am not getting sentimental over a goal or ex-player, I am taking into account that he is a very regarded Coach.

He has turned down a few Championship jobs and Republic of Ireland too so he knows his worth and he would be in line for a big job, don't forget he was maybe unfairly overlooked for the England job also.

I could pick multiple managers above him but I don't think you can rule him out.

Yes I know you said we had them at home ?

We were talking about bringing in a new manager, and I mentioned it being an ok time for that, as the next six games coming up being a comparatively good time to bring someone in, i.e. those 6 games being:

“3 home games (FA Cup vs Peterborough, Villa then Spurs), Brighton, Leicester and Palace.” Thought it may have been obvious matey :D

Not to say there's nothing in it - but I think it's probably just fulfilling quotas. It's something to write about.

Wtf you said the new manager will have 3 home games Brighton, Leicester and palace you never mentioned 6 games mate and never mentioned Peterborough, Villa or spurs
Think you need to go back and read you’re own post

Of course that may be the case.
But it’s a reasonably in depth article focused on a specific rumour ( there are others I suspect)
Preparing the ground for a future appointment like this helps with ensuring a reasonable level of acceptance, arguably.
It also hints that while Dyche is being supported they already have a plan for the future that doesn’t include Dyche, thus calming some of the current angst among the supporters.
Another consideration is that since Allegri is a defensive minded coach , any players brought in to aid Dyche could also be utilised by his successor thereby avoiding any wasted expenditure.
All supposition on my part of course.
But I have long suspected Allegri is their man and if I was a betting man I’d be more then tempted at this point to have a punt .
I wonder what his odds are 🤔

Wow grammar police! I listed the six games as in, and I quote:

“New manager then has

3 home games,
Brighton,
Leicester
and Palace.”

(Thats 6 games - the 3 home games - fa cup peterbrough, villa and spurs, then Brighton, Leicester and Palace).

A comma constitutes items in a list, as in, we have 3 home games, (and) Brighton, (and) Leicester, (and Palace). Technically, if I wanted to make things up and wrongly suggest that the next 3 games were those, I could have perhaps made it a “;”, possibly a “-“. I (and others) even then went on to clarify it fgs.

Jeez, does it really matter blueboy72, we know they are not the NEXT 3. Smh.

Im sorry, if I confused you with rushing my grammar, but I honestly thought it would have been obvious.

Friends, sugar t1ts? :D

Well in fairness Bobby Robson gets more words than Allegri in that article!
