New manager

Done well in Sweden is a bit of an understatement mate honestly. Took a team from the lowest division and took them to the Emirates and won before he left.

Swansea he did well

Brighton, he out in place everything we know about Brighton now, ie a very stable mid to upper mid team.

Chelsea yeah he bombed, as did Tuchel and many others.
Tuchel won a Champions League...

I realise you're a bit of an expert on "bombs", but that one is a little off the usual flight path...

Match report in their football pullout section
I quote:

“If the new ownership group at Everton do opt to make a change, then the Spaniard Iraola- who appears to have a capacity to recruit well and improve better still - is likely to be among the candidates for the role at Goodison Park”

Yes you are right, he done really well in Sweden, no doubt.

I am not sure about his Swansea time, they had just got relegated and still had some good players, they finished about 9th/10th, nothing special.

At Brighton he had three seasons, first two he got about 40 points. His third season they came 9th. How much did he put in place there? Because Brighton are known for being a well run club with the backroom staff, DOF, academy, scouts etc. A lot of their staff are sought after.

As you say, he got a chance at a big club and was terrible.

Personally, I wouldn’t want him here, wanting the likes of Mykolenko and Doucoure passing it from the back.

At Brighton I think he deserves credit for how he transitioned them from a long-ball clogger outfit under Hughton to what they were when he left. And I think Brighton were higher than 9th when he left (could be wrong on that though).

For his time at Chelsea there surely has to be some context applied. Chelsea was an absolute mess when he was there. Poch and Maresca had it easier than him.
