The Heysel ban was the start of our slide... we were hit the hardest, arguably our best side ever had a great chance in Europe but had it taken away..I remember growing up in the 80s all I knew was the RS and us winning the lot. Street parties every single year for a cup final or a league title for either us or them lot - as a family, you always had a party at the end of the season to look forward for to or dread.
I don’t agree it started with Bally, I’d say the acceptance of the Heysel ban and Kendall leaving together with the PL starting in 92 - all in a short period of time ~5/6 years ruined the strategy for the club.
if say the new stadium offers us the best possibility of success since the 80s, maybe in 10/15 years once the money starts to cover the losses we have incurred for so long - that’s all on Kenwright. Just like soft lad is doing to UTD, never ever let a fan run a footy club.
Think it would be a disaster. While I like Potter, moving from Dyche to him mid season in a relegation battle would be very high risk.
I'd agree. While we do need a complete re-set, we don't have the players to play his style right now. It would be some bedding in process, and like you say, midseason isnt going to be the right time for it.While I like Potter, moving from Dyche to him mid season in a relegation battle would be very high risk.
Conceicao would have been ideal. They guy is all passion, and a complete nutter. Also plays 4-4-2 using pace out wide. Him with a couple of fast new wingers/fullbacks would have worked well.Think it would be a disaster.
Imagine angry Goodison with this bloke?!
He’d possibly be in tears. Not the right fit.
We need some absolute lunatic to really galvanise the whole club, someone who’s just pure passion and energy. Like the RS got with Klopp (helps if they’re a fantastic coach too).
How is your grammar nowadays Matty, is she still fit and well?i was hiding

We had some very very good players as recent as moves and could have easily won a cup or 2. Koeman destroyed our squad and mosh destroyed the club not being strong enough with that board and also interfering with football matters. (apart from the stadium)The Heysel ban was the start of our slide... we were hit the hardest, arguably our best side ever had a great chance in Europe but had it taken away..

We need to get a away from this negative, conservative mentality as a club.Think it would be a disaster.

Agree if he is a good coach like has shown in the past and well having watched us and had us scouted as chelsea boss ect. Will kno with a short time coming in wont be able to massively change the style but could certainly adapt it. Will not accept this team cant play some football instead of constant long balls afraid on getting on th ball and passing it and moving into space. Dyche and his negative attitude is part of the problemWe need to get a away from this negative, conservative mentality as a club.
Firstly, there is virtually no way that anyone who comes in could be as bad as Dyche. Secondly, if a lot of people were confident until very recently (not me) that Dyche would keep us up, it won't take much for Potter to do so - there are three other very poor teams in this league. Thirdly, Potter is a coach, and tactically astute. He could improve our players and style. Forthly (is that a word?!) he has some good defenders and holding midfielders and a great goalkeeper to work with, so it's not like we're going to suddenly start conceding goals for fun. Finally, Forest are currently showing the benefit of bringing in a manager part way through a difficult season and allowing them to get out in front for the summer.
Potter would be absolutely fine and miles better than what we currently have and better long-term than reappointing Moyes or getting in another Dyche.
