I’m sure it was Johnson who changed it to Bad Moon Rising by CCR for one match.

If you listen to the lyrics I think it was spot on for the time.

Seen a few strange takes about the new stadium being a cue to ditch all current club traditions lately.

It's like when your local pub gets renovated and they rip out the stone floors and log burners and 'modernise' it with flatscreen TVs, Union Jack cushions and those hilarious gin pun posters.

We will have a world class stadium with world class supporters BUT to really grow and attract more supporters of our great club I say we need a new recognised world wide tune. It doesn’t mean we replace what we have! Look …. Man City - I hate to say it but choosing to sing Hey Jude at the beginning of their matches allows people to join in and associate themselves. Hey Jude is a worldwide recognised song and the cheek of Man City picking a scousers song BUT it’s worked for them - the amount of new supporters / money this brings in is priceless

Last time we dropped Z cars under a certain Mike Walker for Bad Moon Rising by Clear water Revival lead singer great guitarist John Fogerty a great band by the way - we nearly got relegated - no Z cars is part of our history - & as a young fan at an away fan behind the goal we all sang the tune at many grounds - so No leave it alone .....

Hi all, I'm a somewhat newer Everton fan from the States, about 10 years or so now supporting the club, so I do not have as much history as most of you. I've just been to Goodison once thus far, in 2019 (2-0 over Burnley). I'm curious about how people feel about players coming onto the pitch...

The sheer volume of new fans drawn in by Hey Jude must be in the single digits, if not the tens by now.

Sure I remember a song playing in the stadium when I was a kid possibly back in the 90’s or early 2000’s to the z-cars tune but with words in it.
