Well. That's that, all done. I now have a new love in my life alongside my family, Everton, Led Zeppelin and Orlando. I have had an amazing time. Greatest city I've ever visited and probably the greatest city I will ever visit. Just at JFK and these holiday blues are hurting already.
Made up you enjoyed it mate

Wouldn't mind a bit more info on what you did and like most if you ever get the chance, always find it interesting

It snowed so we saw Central Park in the snow it was beautiful.

Was there just after NYE about 10 years ago and it was the same. Loved the snow covered fields and trees, with sky scrappers all around!! :)

Alternately you can take the E Train instead of the LIRR

Or if you're hading into Brooklyn or Manhattan the J/Z from Jamaica or the A train from Howard Beach

I see what you've done there....

NY is amazing tho. Been there 3/4 times and loved it each visit. Defo need to go back some time :)

So on Wednesday we set of on a Delta flight from Manchester, which was direct and had turbulence for the entire journey. We arrived at JFK an hour ahead of schedule (around 3pm) so we got the Air train to Jamaica station after that we got the E subway direct into Manhattan, which was about 11 stops.

We came out from underground and by this time it was getting dark and we were just hit by a sea of people and lights. Asked a cop how to get to our hotel, which was on 7th avenue, he directed us and it was about a 10 min walk.

Checked in, it was my wife's birthday so I requested a room with a view, so although the room was small out of one window we had a view of Central Park and the other we could see down to Times Square. We grabbed a Subway for tea as we were too tired for a big meal, ate that in the room and then we went straight to the Empire State Building. Views were great and if all the skyscrapers we went up this certainly felt the most iconic.

Day 2
Up early with Jet lag, so went to A deli for breakfast and the off to Central Park for about 8am, it was a beautiful morning, really quiet there with loads of people walking dog and jogging, exactly as I expected it to be. Whilst we were there we went to the John Lennon memorial at Strawberry fields and to the Dakota building where he was shot.

At about 10:30 we left this area, grabbed a coffee, went back to hotel to grab some warmer clothes as we had a midday 'Best of NY circle line cruise' which went around the entire island of Manhattan, this was absolutely brilliant and took around 2 1/2 hours. Got the boat at pier 93.

After the boat tour came to an end we walked the 10 or so blocks back to the hotel to get ready for the evenings activities which included going to the top of the Rockefeller centre, a 30 block walk to 23rd street to Outback steak house and then over to the Flatiron building before heading to Madison Square Garden to watch the Knicks.

Day three
Up early for breakfast at Ellen's Starsust diner, which is where people looking to make it on broadway work to earn some money, do it's a musical whilst eating as the waiters and waitresses sing broadway hits as well as serving your breakfast.

After this we got a open top bus tour from Times Square to the south of Manhattan which showed us a load more sites before we eventually go off at Brooklyn bridge which we walked over and back again before heading to the financial district.

After that it was to the Workd trade are where we did the memorial museum, listened to a fire chief who was working that day on the initial rescue mission before the towers came down (which was incredibly detailed and sad) then we went up the one world tower to the observatory at the top.

After this we got cab back to the hotel, had a kip before we went out for an evening meal and then we had booked to go to a comedy club at the upper west side which was a great nights entertainment.

Day 4

Up early, went to grand central station, then down to Greenwich village to Mr dennehy's bar, which is an Everton bar to watch the Palace game. After that we had a walk around the surrounding area, found tge Friends building and then got on the High Line, which is a disused over head railway track which has been turned into gardens and is a really nice walk back into the city, after we'd done we stopped off at a pizzeria and had something to eat.

After this we did some gift shopping then due to all the walking we had relax before heading to Macy's at night and then on to Hard Rock Cafe for a humongous tea and dessert

Day 5

Packed, then off to Central Park to do more of what we hadn't done earlier in the holiday, we had some dinner at shake shark then over to the Museum of Natural History. Once we'd spent time there we had a coffee in trump tower before heading to the airport to come home. All in all a fantastic holiday and I can't see it being too many months before I'm back.
