After that it was to the Workd trade are where we did the memorial museum, listened to a fire chief who was working that day on the initial rescue mission before the towers came down (which was incredibly detailed and sad) then we went up the one world tower to the observatory at the top.

After this we got cab back to the hotel, had a kip before we went out for an evening meal and then we had booked to go to a comedy club at the upper west side which was a great nights entertainment.

Day 4

Up early, went to grand central station, then down to Greenwich village to Mr dennehy's bar, which is an Everton bar to watch the Palace game. After that we had a walk around the surrounding area, found tge Friends building and then got on the High Line, which is a disused over head railway track which has been turned into gardens and is a really nice walk back into the city, after we'd done we stopped off at a pizzeria and had something to eat.

After this we did some gift shopping then due to all the walking we had relax before heading to Macy's at night and then on to Hard Rock Cafe for a humongous tea and dessert

Day 5

Packed, then off to Central Park to do more of what we hadn't done earlier in the holiday, we had some dinner at shake shark then over to the Museum of Natural History. Once we'd spent time there we had a coffee in trump tower before heading to the airport to come home. All in all a fantastic holiday and I can't see it being too many months before I'm back.
Wow! You certainly packed loads in. I think I need to go back.

Glad you enjoyed it, amazing city - fell in love with the place and hoping to go back late this year. Some of your photos eerily similar to my own lol

Must make an effort to get to Mr Dennehy's if there's a match on. Watched the Burnley match in Scallywags in Toronto with a few toffees over there and had a right laugh. Place was swarming with bloody kopites though

Me and the wife are looking at going to New York mid January next year for 4 nights, staying at a hotel called The Hotel Times Square (if anyone has stayed there)

I'm just looking for info on what would be the top five 'must do' excursions and what amount of $ would be needed for 4 nights, all activities will be pre booked and paid for.

Never been before, but really want to do the main attractions and sample the city itself.

Any info welcome.

out of interest mate how much did the entire trip set you back??

There's a restaurant in Harlem that's actually called Harlem Shake, I was pleasantly surprised to find during the Harlem Shake fad a few years ago

Holiday cost £1200

Attraction tickets for things like the skyscrapers, boat tours and things like that were £250 (you buy an 'explorer pass' with access to either 3,5,7 or 10 attractions and there are 80 to choose from)

And we took about $1300

So in total about 2.5k but we didn't need as much spends as that it turned out.
