Too gutted to comment yesterday, the difference between the two teams was the desire and commitment to the cause of escaping the relegation quagmire. They fought (and I mean physically fought) for their premiership lives, our players are playing in some sort of euphoric place in their minds where they think they are safe but the reality is they are long gone. Refereeing and injuries aside, we knew it would be cauldron and yet we weren't prepared for it. Honestly, I would have liked to see us start with JJK or Patterson instead of Coleman, for no other reason than to do something different. Not even singling anyone out, just use some different personnel otherwise it just seems like it is the same result with the usual suspects. ?

I thought we were poor regardless mate . We had players there who showed a complete lack of composure such as the defence. Yes we had injuries, I accept that. What I won’t accept is how gutless we were at times. Once they equalised the team began to crumble.

Michael Keane for example, is a total liability. How he is a premier league player is beyond me. It’s difficult to have a keep the faith mentality when these things keep happening over the years. Right or wrong , cryarse or whatever dig people say on here regularly , I’m someone who’s fed up of it.
I get it but if we keep at playing better football we will be ok. Then in summer change the weaker players. We have a lot of rubbish ending contracts anyway. If we beat Leeds and win a game in hand it will begin to look different

Coleman was trashed by their best player without doubt

In fairness, with a bit of perspective. Newcastle played very well, the stadium was rocking and we were hit with a series of injuries that changed the system.
Dele wasn’t ready to come on - he was off the pace - but there were glimmers.
The wall for the freekick though… what was that gap for?

What where these people watching ?

First 20 minutes was positive- the press was there, there was bite in the tackles. We seemed to want it more. Once we scored, we took our foot off the gas. Created very little, let them back in the game almost instantly and then seemed to have neither the confidence nor the fitness to compete. Thought Beek showed some positive signs when he came on. Hoping Frank can pull a rabbit out of the hat and somehow find a way to make us solid at the back.

Lampard has got a tough job on his hands. We are so easy to play against, and our players aren’t hurt when they get beat.

Just pressurise our defenders, who always look like it’s the first time they’ve ever played football no matter who plays there, and they’ll give you it.

Two of the first goals came from us being dispossessed in stupid areas initially. Pickford is just as bad.

Incredibly disappointing and frustrating performance, or lack of…

Even more reason for Goodson to continue to rock and get behind the team, like Brentford in the cup, for every remaining home game this season…. No more boo-ing!

Nobody can fix our problems in 9 days, Come on Frank….

I watched Boreham Wood at the weekend, they run non stop and close down defenders, perfect storm to send us tumbling out of the cup.
This season just keeps giving doesn't it.
As soon as we get a team in our faces, we crumble.
They absolutely crapped themselves last night and the 2 new lads didn't have me thinking, we will be alright here.
I know they have only been here 2 minutes but Deli looks completely Everton'd already.

I’m more than happy to let Boreham Wood win 8-0 as long as we don’t get relegated.
