Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

The other investors - Reuben brothers are the " acceptable " face of this takeover. Staveley s wealth from this will be staggering. 10% of the Club will apparently see her make over 900million. As for the Saudis inputting a modest amount is wrong I've heard. They are going to really back the takeover and provide " considerable ," funds. Money has no meaning to these people really.

I feel like I’ve seen you around here before.

We have probably one of the best managers in the world, 2 of the best young forwards in the country and are bankrolled by one of the worlds richest men.

You have Steve Bruce and fans who punch horses.
And you have fans who fought with Millwall fans, terrifying women and children and as your Chairman said dragged the reputation of the Club through the mud. You're fans really arnt the paragons of virtue. Now don't be silly, because you really don't want to talk about fan comparisons too much do you.

If that's true you should see massive changes in the first transfer window.

Man city bought in the likes of robinho, Bellamy, bridge, Nigel de jong. Solid signings and a massive step up on what they had

Well you have also said you were going to jump ahead of Everton, sign lots of quality players and made an insinuation that I am being dishonest. I have no issue with you wanting to compete, that's a perfectly understandable instinct. My point is, that there's very little evidence thus far that you are going to spend as much money as Everton did following the takeover. You might, but there are also a lot of realities where you don't. Everton were also a lot further ahead of you in 2016. We had a squad with assets (Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley, Stones etc). Your squad is really poor and is overachieving to keep itself above the relegation zone. You've got a long long way to go to be able to overtake Everton. Lets see for a starting point if you even change your manager.
I've said it's going to be more difficult for EVERY Club. Don't think I did say we were going to overtake Everton or words to that affect. I can't help refering to the old saying " bald men fighting over comb " neither Club will be challenging Liverpool of City. We are worlds apart. It's is a fact however that SHOULD the takeover happen, Newcastle with considerable investment and some momentum, WILL be able to challenge and compete. It's already been accepted that it will make the PL more exciting. Newcastle fans must be overjoyed that for once, money will not matter, if there's a player they want they can get him hopefully because they can offer obscene wages. It is extremely naive thinking that Newcastle won't be able to attract players because money talks. It must be very frustrating for you fans with Liverpool overshadowing every thing you do. But I'm sure you'll be fine. Being in the top eight of the PL is nothing to be sniffed at. It's going to be exciting to watch you fight for a place in Europe next year. You're a proud Club with a loyal following and you genuinely, should be proud of that.

For Newcastle United's sake, I would advise not going gung ho like sailors on shore leave in the transfer market if any takeover occurs. Look what we wasted the cash on. Better a sensible policy of proven mid table youngish players and older top side players who are moving to the fringes of those teams.

The important stuff of improving or moving stadiums and the training ground and getting the upper management and a good coach who knows what they're up to has taken us years. That'll take Newcastle years too. City had a big head start with their new stadium ready and waiting.

Will Newcastle flourish? With a well healed and generous owner, almost certainly. It may well take the best part of 10 years. If the buyers have been preparing dilligently in the background then maybe around 5 years or so.

I would not be surprised if the Saudis keep low profile unless something starts happening which will accelerate or harm their investment. Probably just enough time to sportwash their reputation in football at least. Then who knows?
Yarrh, that's a great post.

Yes, I’m sure that was Everton fans that were the issue there.

Do you REALLY think Everton are so far in front of Newcastle at present " mission to leap frog us " that with decent investment Newcastle would struggle. You accuse Newcastle of being deluded. I really don't know where you think Everton are ? Your fan base is loyal, so is Newcastle's, you have a new stadium - is it four years time ? - Newcastle's is ideally situated slap bang in the City Centre, you're owners have invested, so will Newcastle's and you have a great Manager, Newcastle don't but soon will. Now, are you still saying given the above that factually, you are leaps and bounds ahead of Newcastle. Objectively, you just aren't. However neither Club are ANYWHERE near City and Liverpool's standard.

How do you know you will soon have a great manager?

Could you explain how Stavely is going to change £30m into £900m?
I meant to say that the Club's value is predicted to rise to £900 million in 2 - 3 years. She will have 10% of that., equating to £90 million. Still a lot of money for being the face of the takeover. Puts it in perspective with how obscene health care workers are paid etc. Another argument for another day.

I’ve seen your fans smash up your own city when you get pumped by Sunderland and when you lost those 2 FA cup finals in the 90s. lol lol Totally ridiculous. I’m not particularly one for generalisations but if there is a thicker fan base on the planet I’d be really interested to meet them.
The lack of self awareness is incredible.
