Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

There’s a clue in the title - investment fund.

I’m sure they don’t see making two other investors a supposed £90m a piece for doing nothing, and off the back of their cash, as being of ‘no meaning’

If money really was no issue here, and they were leading this entire thing, then why didn’t they just arrive and buy it a year ago for exactly what Ashley was asking? Why has it taken a year of negotiation by Staveley?

You lot seem to be continually swerving this salient point, as it doesn’t suit the narrative you’ve chosen to write.
I know from media reports. PIF will own 80% they're wealth is reported to be £260 billion. They have reportedly said they are going to put " considerable " funds to enhance the investment ( in the community, training facilities and playing staff. Staveley will have 10% and the Reuben brothers the last 10%, they have wealth of £18 billion. There is a " natural " belief that it isn't just a play thing, all three investors have said the Club want to compete for everything if possible band provide the funds to do so. Contrary to what many on here think, the Saudis are heavily investing in the Club. Something to look forward to for all Newcastle fans. Beer nibbles and a good movie tonight. Stay safe everybody.

I don't subscribe to the Pochettino hype at all. He bottled the champions league final. Spurs should have won that.

Hes a good manager, but not sure hes markedly ahead of what Moyes did here in the end. Out together a good side and choked games. Hes certainly not the sort of manager turns heads to get people to join them. I mean who did Spurs really sign who was really eye catching?

I don't " know '. I'm summislng that they will go for a high profile Manager after offering him stupid money. That of course, if this takeover happens.

I think there is a racial stereotype in English football that Arab owner = £££££

In reality they may see Newcastle as a good investment for the future and do similiar to Mike Ashley but with a few extra quid thrown in.

Portsmouth, Malaga and Sheff Utd etc all thought they were the Next Man City when Abu Dhabi / Qatari / Saudi royalty/businessmen bought into them and the reality has been very different.

I think they are obviously better than Mike Ashley - but the notion that they are going to come in and throw money around is very much hearsay and again based on them being arabs - if they were American Investors they would automatically be seen as bad.

Do any of these media reports address;
1) Why they have been haggling for months and years over price, potentially letting Newcastle get relegated
2) Why they haven't just paid the asking price themselves?
3) Why they haven't raised the funds? Why theyve accepted a loan from Ashley to help with all of these things?
4) Why theyve given up 20% of liquidity once Ashlet wouldn't drop his price.
5) Why other clubs called them time wasters.

But yes, these people are definitely going to spend billions needed to get Newcastle to move from perennial relegation fodder in the back end of nowhere, to one of the leading clubs.

Thats my point mate - the media get much more out of portaying these cats as being serious players as people will buy/clickbait the tons of articles linking Mbappe, Griezmann, Coutinho, Poch etc to them all summer.

A story of them being investors looking at Newcastle as a good business to return long term profit isnt sexy enough.

Its typical UK gutter press - the likes of the star are already doing the "how Newcastle's Starting 11 may look next season" based on absolutely nothing lol

They also claimed Wolves would be Premier League champions within 3 years based on their owners wealth when in reality their relationship to Jorge Mendes has been their secret weapon not spending billions of Chinese state funds.

Fairly certain both everton and West Ham would have enquired about Pochettino’s availability. Absolutely no chance he is going to Newcastle. Unbelievably delusional. They’ll probably try getting Benitez back would be my guess. That’s if they’re not happy with the job Bruce is doing.

I've said it's going to be more difficult for EVERY Club. Don't think I did say we were going to overtake Everton or words to that affect. I can't help refering to the old saying " bald men fighting over comb " neither Club will be challenging Liverpool of City. We are worlds apart. It's is a fact however that SHOULD the takeover happen, Newcastle with considerable investment and some momentum, WILL be able to challenge and compete. It's already been accepted that it will make the PL more exciting. Newcastle fans must be overjoyed that for once, money will not matter, if there's a player they want they can get him hopefully because they can offer obscene wages. It is extremely naive thinking that Newcastle won't be able to attract players because money talks. It must be very frustrating for you fans with Liverpool overshadowing every thing you do. But I'm sure you'll be fine. Being in the top eight of the PL is nothing to be sniffed at. It's going to be exciting to watch you fight for a place in Europe next year. You're a proud Club with a loyal following and you genuinely, should be proud of that.

Well firstly you have insinuated I am being dishonest. You are now essentially falsifying all sorts of things. I sense when you get challenged, you get in a bit of a hump and start being ridiculous. Just to add one final thing before I address your idiocy, I've seen you say weve got nothing on the horizon. We are due to move into a world class, new modern stadium, in a world renowned location. It will make your ground look like a tin pot shack.

As for the 2nd part, it doesnt make much sense. Newcastle and Everton are worlds apart from City/Liverpool. Yes perhaps so. Newcastle and Everton are worlds apart too. You have finished above us once in 14 years, in a period that is one of Evertons poorest periods in our history. Even at our worst, you are still miles behind us. (In that same period weve finished above City and Liverpool multiple times). So yes, City and Liverpool are miles ahead of us, and we are miles ahead of you. That's how far you have to come. You are in essence indistinguishable to Sunderland Middlesborough compared to Everton. Both have probably finished below Everton similar amount of times to you, and had a similar number of relegations in that time.

Then you say we wont be competing, but contradict yourself by saying you (I presume) will now be competing with City and Liverpool. You wont be. No amount of money will allow you to do, for some time.

I'll try and make this clear for you, as perhaps I've been a bit too polite- from a position substantially better tha where you are, we have spent the 3rd most in English football history, and it's taken us 4 years to get to a point where we are in any way approaching being able to compete at the top end. Looking at the antics of the owners so far, and the oil crisis (that you laughably seemed to think is going to magically go "back to normal") it is very unlikely in probability terms you have the level of investment we had. It's possible, but unlikely. And even then, you are several years behind.

Let me tell you what happens this summer if you aim to go for a top player/manager. He goes "who? Newcastle, you mean that yo yo club near Sunderland in the back end of nowhere with the outdated stadium and appalling training facilities. The club who've not been in Europe for a decade and not won a league in about 100 years. I'll give it a miss thanks".

Even in your best case scenario, where oil magically recovers a group of owners who wont pay the asking for (cant raise the funds perhaps) and are relying on Mike Ashley for a loan to help fund it magically put the billions in you need, you still dont get the top players.

You are in for a rude awakening. Now, I dont need to your opinion on Everton, my levels of honesty or anything else, as you clearly are an inept judge of situation. But get with the program before you get too let down in the long run.

If the money is there they will get him.

If managers were told we would have 500m to bring in players (and manager compo) to spend in 3 years under moshiri we too could have gone for decent managers.

It depends who they have running the day to day stuff. Look at wolves relationship with mendes, came straight from the championship and haven't looked back, it can be done.

If the money is there and they bring in the right people they can do it.

Wolves nearly got relegated from the championship when their ownership first arrived. About 5 years later and they are essentially where we are. They haven't even eclipsed a points total we managed in year 1 under Koeman.

Wolves are the perfect example of why people shouldn't wet the bed on this stuff. 5 years in and they are yet to achieve what Koeman did that's regarded a success story.
